Yeah, when I have done other events I have been fixed in one place so I could set everything up, camera on a tripod, mic mounted somewhere near the person speaking, but as this was a much bigger event, it was all done handheld, I was also using a new camera without a microphone socket as my old camera got (big) bashed during a house move and stopped working

I did not realise that there was no mic socket until I was getting everything together for this event.

Still, dodgy sound and video is better than NO sound and video

Oh and in answer to your post on YouTube, Part two should be up in the next half hour or so.

Thanks this is a life saver. I was there but being fairly short and being at the back couldn't see or hear a bleedin thing. Wish they'd PA'd it and tbh I think we lost a few people at the back for this reason.

Well it's sort of directional, it's on the front of the camera, pointing at what you're filming

Still not as good as a proper mic though.

I might be able to do some work on the audio later (load the audio only into cool edit pro, faff around with the noise filters and graphic equalizers, and overlay that back on top of the video) but that takes several hours of processing, and I did not want to keep you impatient lot waiting
