@BigBentheAussie

I hope AROS natively.

The idea is to improve AROS and have the hardware running software in a fast and enjoyable way. UAE inetgration is only first step, as there's WIP regarding direct emulation on AROS itself:
EMUMIGA.COM

And AROS hosted was always intended for AROS development itself not replacement.

As for AROS lacking behind AmigaOS, it's not true regarding a lot of areas, what it does in most is require more polishment and better debuging. Of course there are areas which is severely handicaped such as printing and some form of memory protection... I guess it's really those areas that are really lacking.

Other than that USB support is better, Networking connection is wider (Cable/WI-FI/USB modem - 3G devices...)... 3D support is better also, although not so wider as it should be regarding the platforms it's running.

What AmigaOS is a more directioned, well developed, polished and consistent effort. And it shows in a evident form.

My thinking was run UAE through AROS.
At least it would give people more of a reason to boot into AROS for the retro goodness....
We would position AROS as a portal for everything retro.

It is the most logical path for such a system, at least IMHO. I can't say that I would argue with that logic unless it put you in a legal bind by doing so. My guess is that one could also access some of the C64, MAME, AtariST, etc. retro stuff through AROS too?

I see how the all-in-one might appeal to some nostalgic folks and possibly others, but I personally would not be too attracted to such system. However, if this was ultimately successful, I'd love to see a laptop, or even better, a slate with such a setup in the future as well.
