@All
The news of the Commodore has been received well in the Community. Never before (as I've seen) have so many been positive to a newcomer. I think it's because this actor has financiella muscle and drive. The news, which is great news, have come up with shortly after each other. This is new to our little part of the world called the Amiga Community. Previously, we have been accustomed to long periods of action that often ended in nothing. Finally, we may see something big coming.
If Commodore doing everything right now, it will be a win-win situation. Commodore Amiga is selling its more than perhaps the original Amiga sold in its time. This will increase interest PowePC Amiga. Commodore will thus increase interest in Hyperion products. Both have their place in the market!
For it to work, it would be best to AmigaOS4.x was ported to x86 and it came installed in new Commodore Amiga. Unless it can be Aros (or otherwise) to develop into an x86 product with real Amiga feeling. Ideally should Commodore hire someone known origin developers from Amiga Workbench for this project or to Aros.
All in all: Commodore MUST have an operating system that people can call for the original AmigaOS in a direct line.
Retro Amiga hardware or operating system is not something that endures, it ends up just on the shelf of cute things there people on to watch and smile a little.
Commodore must therefore succeed in bringing the message that this is a REAL Amiga. I think they have the greatest chance of success since 1994. This should also Hyperion rejoice at sg and start porta AmigaOS4.x especially for the Commodore Amiga machine.
Technical: Commodore Amiga machine must obviously include an electrical circuit that makes the OS only runs on this machine. I do not want to see other PCs running the Amiga operating system.
Soon you may have two Amiga systems to choose from: 1st PC-Amiga a cheaper mass-produced for mass 2nd PPC Amiga an expensive special produced for the inner clique
What is needed for this to be true? 1st Porting OS4.x to x.86 2nd Agreement between Hyperion and Commodore
Go ahead and pester the two players!
