As in topic, I simply could not resist to not buy the last remaining Mac
Mini PPC in the store

@tomazkid

What did you pay for it?
Which model (specs) did you buy?

@Samwel

2995 SEK at OnOff

The saleswoman wrote in the words "sista ex" (last one) in the computer, so I believe that this really was the last remaining PPC-mac they had in the whole country. Only x86 from now on

It has G4 1.33 Mhz, 512 mb of RAM and 40 Gb of harddrive.

Dear lord, I knew the PPC chips were lagging but that's awful!

Erm, The Intel Mac mini starts at 1.5GHz.
The big difference is the Cache (4x bigger) and the bus (4x faster).

I think he meant that tomazkid mixed up ghz with mhz
Even a ppc would be slow at 1.33mhz :)

I remember when Apple pushed the "megahertz myth." It's amazing no one gives them flak for it.

Got me a dual core intel based Mini a while back. Good little box. Can run windoze as well but I don't see any point when OS X is just so much nicer. Gets along well with my A1 boxes as well.

@tomazkid

Welcome to the club!

HDD sounds a tad small though at 40GB, I thought they started at 80GB in Mac minis, which is what my G4 mini had when I got 18 months back, maybe that was an option? Anyway...

You'll be wanting a 30" Cinema soon . (the good old upgrade bug)

Ummmm, not sure I'd be willing to swap OSX for OS4 in the current state of play - I think I'd rather OSX it does all I want and actually has quite an Amiga-like feel. Maybe once OS4 has some more useful apps though...

My Mac mini is my favouritess computer ever...

...after my A600 of course

OSX rocks
