1) Last weekend I paid the PayPal invoice from ACube systems.
2) This week I'm expecting delivery as they ship it with UPS from Italy to the USA
3) Previously all Phone Calls and Emails have been answered.

More to come...

UPS Tracking shows my SAM PPC is in the USA.
I'm so excited, cause I know Amiga OS 4 will work on it some how very soon.
Hyperion Supporters: Have to agree, because of H's discussions with ACube
Amiga Inc Supporters: Will see the logic in it

1) The UPS package was held up due to lack of detailed invoice and product description
on the outside of the package @ customs.

2) An email was sent back to the shipper for more detailed information.

3) I provided UPS with more details.

@Everyone

Amiga SAM 440 PPC is alive. Yipeeeeeeeeeee

1) 150W PSU Issue: With a bit of grace from God and the community input we can now safely say, when you assemble SAM 440 PPC in an ATX case you will need to convert the PSU ATX connector to
150W or buy a new 150W PSU.

2) S-ATA Connectors: Not enough S-ATA power connectors may be available by default on you custom made cases and it's PSU. So I would suggest buying 2 of these adapters as minimum.

3) Amiga OS 4 Compatibility: Don't count your chickens yet, but UBoot is better than the UBoot found on AmigaOne's by default. So I can expect the first half dozen of Amiga OS 4.0 compatible SAM 440 PPC's to hatch in a matter of a year if not months if not weeks. HEHE :)

More to come for sure... Keep ya posted!

@moderators

I guess this should be in a more generic section like "free for all" since "Sam" is not classic amiga software, and "Sam" does not run OS4 and it's not licensed to run OS4 so it's as relevant to Amiga stuff as a Xbox360.

@Crumb

I agree, the Xbox does not run OS4.0.

@meet.mrnrg

I have a good feeling about the SAM440, from a technical point of view. Acube may be new and "untested" as a hardware manufacturer, but the SoC CPU is tested and proven from many previous applications. And while the motherboard is quite compact (hence complex), the components itself shouldn't bring any surprises, right? I guess it's down to how they glued it together, and to the maturity state of the firmware?

Keep us posted!

@Rob

Anyone who wants to support SAM but can't justify buying one just yet could do a lot worse than donate $10 or so to

PORT AROS TO SAM BOUNTY!

Come on - why let EFIKA have all the glory!

@meet.mrnrg

Yeah! That's the spirit!

I would be just as excited with AROS on SAM as OS4 on SAM - but with both SAM is a lot stronger.

Any last remaining OS4 fans really should support SAM like meet.mrnnrg!

I would if I had the money for it. At least I've got an A1 to play with.

@Colin_Camper

I'm with Hans. Earlier this evening I plunked down $44.90 for Amiga Future magazine. I started a job Oct 1 and am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the 1st paycheck so I can replenish my PayPal account and put food on the table.

When some hardware comes out that runs OS4+ faster than this AmigaOne, *then* I'll let this one go and buy the new hardware. I saved $ for 3 years to buy the AmigaOne (not earlybird). With a ***job*** I hope it won't take any 3 years!

That's fantastic!

Hopefully the SAM bounty will soon be occupying the same $ territory as EFIKA!

It hasn't got far to go!
