I wasn't reading it actually, just checked the "Amiga-notebook-to-be", LimeBook.

Current specs mentions Intel. So I suppose, farewell.

@DiskDoctor

Hi, got a news letter from them.
Basically its BAU - Business As Usual.

PPC - LimeBooks
PPC - TV's
PPC - Mobile Handsets - Coming Soon
PPC - Mini-Mini Desktops

ARM - Notebooks
ARM - PADs
Intel ATOM - NoteBooks

All for sale + or - a few other items...

So no products are going to be discontinued as yet, as they have power to do production runs, when and however they fell like it.
Its China - remember & Freescale & Intel still produce the chips and enhance the road-map.

I love this picture:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=655

The picture could easily in the near future include more Laptop's and IPad's and Mobile devices.

---BIG NOTE---
So AmigaWorld please start cycling the pictures from NEWEST to OLDEST

@DiskDoctor

I think it is discontinued by LimePC but the CherryPal C120 is the rebranded LimeBook with the MPC5121 inside.

I own a LimeBook Z9 so I will be pleased to share information if you have questions.

@corto

"discontinued" - from what source did you obtain this information?
What do you mean by "discontinued"?

I suppose he meant it's no longer known as LimePC.

@meet.mrnrg

On the LimePC website, I don't see any references to the PPC LimeBook in the product page.
No news have been broadcasted since the CES show, in January 2008.

I had found some articles saying that after the LimeBook was out, it was not sold in Europe and North America. Then the project has been used by Max Seybold for its netbook C114 at CherryPal.

Both computers (LimePook and CherryBook) have the same specifications and the same style.

I suppose the LimeBook was sent or licenced by THTF to CherryPal.

Remember when you tried to scam people into "LimePC is the future, AmigaOS will run on it, buy it from me, I have it, for realz!"? That was fun. So, you don't keep your tabs of hardware you wanted to sell to amigans and Hyperion?

@opi

oh please, thanks for the compliment.
I suppose you would love to hear I demoed the LimeBook PPC at last years AmiWest
and that it was running E-UAE fine;

Running AmigaOS 4, was another project that CACHE starved few were dreaming about and wet their pants on every flush cycle.

zzzzzz Another another front AIG America is now going to do a 13Billion or so porfit for the US People that helped bail it out. Sorry to those that wanted the bailouts to fail... I guess you don't want to understand that Russia and IRAN and China are best pals.

@corto

As already linked above, is this not a ppc limebook?

http://limepc.com/book.shtml

This all new computer features Freescale's power-efficient MPC5121e mobile GT processor and the new Linux-based LimeOS operating system to create a new user-friendly computing experience.

LimeBook PPC

LimePC PPC

As corto said already, neither is accessible from the Home > Products.

So your links prove nothing. Many comanies, as of that global market importance as LimePC, simply don't remove links from the site after something gets abandonned. They rather re-link their content.

So my claim again, this is the case. It's fine that cherrypal exists but AFAIR on this very site, its processor (just like in PPC limebook case) has some bug preventing it from eventual AmigaOS exploitation, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I remember that, it was no long ago.

Long thread that was, I asked several questions but meet.mrnrg wouldn't respond. When I pointed that out, he simply answered that he's doing "politics" approach and it works like that. Could be a part of a private conversation though.

So now that Amiga community has its 'Borat' Helgis, it also has 'Obama'.

@DiskDoctor

Well - some comments where purely technical, but most of the reasons things have not moved forward faster are because of politics.

Cash flow.

Perhaps past - bad business dealings

END of DAY - These Chinese guys are backed by internal capital.

So look forward to see the PPC handsets and notebooks still being available for quite sometime.

The next design or more powerful PPC chip in these systems could be some time away, and might not happen. But if CACHE = MONEY then they will FLUSH out a new baby.

If all else makes no sense, refer to Nostradamus
