@TRIPOS

I have no real affection for the C64 but this is the sort of product to appeal to the fans. It has a decent selection of games and looks to be an iteration of the C64CDT which is a good thing in a world full of lame ARM based retro-emu boxes. The price about right too.

@tlosm

An Amiga based product like this is sorely missing from the market but I can't see the parties needed to make this happen coming to an agreement any time soon.

@pavlor

It was just badge engineering to try an sell commodity hardware at sky high prices. Underneath the thin veneer there was nothing Amiga about it.

now that’s funny only 64 games ..that’s doesn’t even include close to my favourite C64 games of all time not to mention the great bat and new games that have been developed in recent years and even today

You can add more games to the system

And that is a particularly sad reality and wasted opportunity.

Feedback on this has been very much, "thanks, but no thanks".

Keyboard is ornamental (you need to plug in a usb keyboard), and the entire system is just an ARM soc running VICE.

@fishy_fis

The "about" blurb says the same people who brought out the DTV so I thought it wouldn't be just another ARM box.

Surely the MiniMig *is* already a mini Amiga

OK not "official", but still a very compact miniature Amiga hardware system capable of operating in very much the same way as any of these Mini releases of late (be it NES, SNES or C64). All it needs is a nice 3d printed Amiga case (be it a rendition of the big box cases or one of the wedge designs) and you would be all set

Get the cost of the standalone vampire down and we are already there. But as usual in the Amiga world prices will be high. Unless we can get a company to take a gamble and mass produce the vampire. I doubt it though

Thanks for links. I don´t like the case (it´s so ugly!!), but it will sell well with right price. Unlike original Amiga Mini from CommodoreUSA.

Correct. No need to apologize. Early reports of ANY news are usually chock full of errors.
I'm going to wait until I get an actual confirmation or denial before I even move this info to the trademark thread.
This (actual product licensing) whilst paperwork is still not even due concerning trademarks at uspto/euipo/benelux/etc. would be a somewhat bold move imo.
There are just too many possibilities as to what is really going on at this juncture.

The Amiga Mini case for 19 Pounds

Well the keyboard case look a like is ridiculous because the keys don't work but same goes for the Mini C64 case.

I would prefer something more practical:

@thread

Ahh...memories of the last time the Amiga Mini name cropped up:

The AmigaMini A Dedicated UAE Box (thread locked)

followed by advice in a later thread

For the above link, if you click "thread" (upper right) there are more posts on the same topic on the same page.

This does beg the question "who licensed amiga" or "Amiga Mini", no?

There are several videos on youtube about it, but this one does at least show it in action from the developer at a recent event in Milan.
