As for Nbench, how long it should work before showing results ? I just run it, and leave it for about 5 or 10 minutes, and nothing happens. I.e. it runs, but then i can't see any sing of life.
Also what Cube tests you use, i found on os4depot boingcube and cubem , both benchmarks.

thank you for tests.
ATM that wa a bit weird...lame was a bit slňower than on my G4@1131 maybe becaiuse of AltiVec or some kernel problem dunno... cray was about 30% faster. File copy really FAST(thanks to sata naturally)
For test that dont works maybe only some incompatibility...
If you can do the Quake and ffmpeg test we can have a complete idea of the current performance on heavy tasks...naturally on general use like netsurfing and other tasks general performance thanks to modern graphic cards, ddr3 and sata will gives a ectra speed up experience...
Amnd also as stated above maybe things will improve in future(and the blender linux test with same blender version will say something for that)... _________________ Simone"Tuxedo"Monsignori, Perugia, ITALY. |

I can do tests with quake and ffmpeg of course, but description of how to do it on first page a bit chaotic.
For ffmpeg i need just link to video which i can download (without all those getvideo things, etc), then actual version of ffmpeg which need to use and from where to download it (os4depot? but there is probably newer than your old one in tests), and then actual command to check.
For quake, i need exactly what version to download (there was many, max's one, huno's one and some another one), also is it quake1 or 2 or 3, also what exactly to run (timedemo or what where etc).
Then i can give you results :)

Used old ioquake which works over minigl/old-w3d. Everything in maximum in the options (32bits,texture quality 32bit, texture filter trilinear, color depth 32 bit, gl extensions on, all maximum):
640x480: 12.5 seconds, 100.7 fps 1024x768: 14.1 seconds, 90.1 fps 1600x1200: 17.4 seconds 72.4 fps

If you have time, could you try this version of MiniGL http://capehill.kapsi.fi/minigl/
It performs a tiny bit faster on Sam440, and I have been wondering does it have a noticiable difference on faster machines.

| @Mr_Capehill Are you sure it working version ? I just unpacked it, and copy minigl.library, reboot. Then "version full:libs minigl.library" says can't find version info for.
Then, when i run any minigl app, i have shell window in which "close amigalibs called" 2 times and nothing else.

Just was read protected after unapcking :) Now it works. Tried the same ioquake3, same settings as before, 1600x1200, give 73.7 fps. Which is about the same, faster on 1 fps only.
