If it can not do 32bit as well, it's not a PowerPC ! ****************** unless it's a Power CPU. Last edited by KimmoK on 17-Apr-2010 at 09:24 PM.

So the question would be; do you like the photograph or not? _________________ A4000D Cyberstorm PPC 060@50 604@200 128Mb G-Rex Voodoo3 PicassoIV Ariadne Delfina Lite OS3.9 BB2

| I have seen web site and I will have to admit that - even it has some good ideas [windows etc] - it does not look PRO :(
Ok, to show you what I mean, I will create mockup and put it next to original site and you will see...
I will just have to find some free time [as I am creating lots of websites for foreign companies] and then I will compare this web site with my idea [the same fonts and logo but with different, brighter colors, gradients and less dropshadow.
My opinion is - people who created Ambient for MorphOS and their web site really have taste for graphic. MOS looks expensive while Amiga web sites still looks like a toy.
Full congratulations for AmigaWorld.net - it looks great in comparation to other "serious" Amiga web sites.
All best. n. _________________ nykk | deetronic.rs | youtube.com/djnykk | gfx.river | mamavolibebu.com |

I think the webpage is actually quite professional compared to many other webpages I visit. It is deliberately kept simple, not overcrowded, and it's cool to have movable/resizable OS4 windows in it from any platform you're browsing from. In fact something a lot more basic than this would have been just fine as well. And, well, compared to how the webpages of amiga.com looked it's such a relief isn't it. However if you think you can do better and want to help improve it, send your ideas and suggestions directly to A-Eon, I'm sure they will find it valuable. |

Damn! I had forgotten those MOS pages. http://www.morphos-team.net/
They are the more beutifull than a-eon pages. (even though reminds too much about apple's look, perhaps)
Anyway, almost anything is better than amiga.com pages during previous decade ... Last edited by KimmoK on 18-Apr-2010 at 08:24 AM.

I hope in full three warranty for all users, a "AmigaCare" included in the itself hardware; It' s very important beacause probably We need some ages before this AX1000 could be FULL supported in the OS4.x.

What tells us, that it is Amiga OS install running on A1-X1000 ? I cannot see any proof... I think at least a photo to proof that AOS is running on X1000 would be good. This could then be used by computer magazines as well.
Other than that, as long as this website serves this Amiga Community, it is nice. Once you guys come close to release date, a more "business" related site would be valuable. I think you guys already know, that X1000 will/can get a lot more attention outside of Amiga(world). So one should be prepeared to provide technology- and business info to Amiga "outsiders" right away.
But what so ever, I (stille) belive there is much more behind it, than just creating a computer for the left over and former Amiga community. I donnot know how, but I think the goal is to attract much more customers than just us... _________________ Geomarketing at www.geobiz.de www.gebietsplanung.net www.geomarketing-consultant.de |

I can assure you that this is a picture taken by a camera of the AmigaOS 4.1 installer running on the AmigaOne X1000 hardware.
There is no objective reason to doubt this. _________________

I like the design, my first thought was that it's funny that the window almost behaves like a real AmigaOS window and found it cool.
I had no problem locating the sliding dock and wonder how anyone could miss it but I guess some people are surfing the web on their phone and expect too much from it.
I used OWB and IBrowse to look at the site, with IBrowse I ended up clicking on the alternate link and thought it could have been made to match the look of the CSS website, as much as possible, but maybe it's meant to be viewable with not just IBrowse but more limited browsers too.
@Thread
Those who think the site could have been designed differently are right of course as it could have been designed any number of ways.
What I find really disappointing is the attitude of the few who think it's okay to insult all the readers by posting disrespectul comments instead of simply saying "I didn't like this or that and think it would be better to do this or that instead".
I just wish AW had some "ignore user" feature like IRC, so that I could simply forget they even exist. For now I'll just remember the nick of the offenders and skip any post and thread from them.

Can you tell us how far the OS4 port to the X1000 have progressed ?
Is it done ? Some minor tweaks to be done ?
Cant't wait to see it in action
Thanks,

Kudos to the smart guy who noticed the os4 install screenshot could be os4 running on x1000, it is indeed.
Yes, although we had some complaints that the AmigaOS4 install picture on the website is very unprofessional. I suppose we could have "faked" a nice clean screen shot of AmigaOS4.1 Update installing on a A1-X1000 but we made do with the actual photograph taken by the OS4 developers of the A1-X1000 installation screen

Maybe you did not make the connection ; I kind of know the story

The proof is the picture is just so bad. It would have been easy enough (and pointless) to post a nice clean fake, but the (bad) photo of the actual install screen running on the A1-X1000 should be proof enough.
As for the website, it been said a few times that this is meant as a temporary site to provide info while we concentrate on the producing the A1-X1000 hardware. Hopefully, its AmigaOS look & feel provide a little more fun than most other traditional websites? Personally, I like it. However there is a fallback website for older browsers, which is more traditional can also be accessed if preferred.

I made the connection
I was just amplifying your point as I had seen some criticism of the poor quality of the Install screen photo and I don't think the posters quite realized the significance of the "poor" photo.
