as far as I remember Ted Danson has been known to state in a intervju he did for
a magazine when he did a movie that he was a fan of the amiga...

the only trouble is that this was a looong time ago.

@Amiboy

I think it's real, how ever he not right age, we are mostly around 25-35 years, whit some error margin, so if this is real he unique in many ways, being known out side the Amiga world and his age, the average Amiga user is from Europa so he is not in the common group in any way

Is there any reliable poll / statistics?

Probably a stupid joke.
Top actors are busy and don't have time for Internet/computers: audition, interviews, promotions, meetings, sports etc.

@Amiboy

I’m a bit skeptical too but it was a fun read. I have not visited amiga.org in a while, some
of the comments and “give and take” were funny.

Thanks for the ref.

Gee, thanks! I really like being called an "error" (48)!

@NutsAboutAmiga &
@thread

AW poll on age:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/xoopspoll/pollresults.php?poll_id=7

AW poll on location:
http://amigaworld.net/modules/xoopspoll/pollresults.php?poll_id=6

I believe that similar polls, were they to be conducted at sites like AmigaOrg,
would be even more enlightening.

Best Wishes,

Europa? Isn't that the forbidden world?

Anyway its a long long way from Europa to the nearest Amiga1 dealer so it would be tough to stay up to date.

@trgse

Well, seems he doesn't like us over here. Oh well, maybe he could be the Bridge between us.

As to whether it's a joke or not, you'll probably never know . I've wondered before how many celebrities we actually encounter when chatting with people online. Funny thing is, there is no way to know. Unless they decide to show up and knock on your door to prove it to you.

BTW, Becker was my favorite Ted Danson show. I always stayed up to watch that. Never really cared for Cheers, although I did see it on occasion.

@Herewegoagain

Perhaps someone should give Debbie Harry a call and ask her if she & Chris wanna do something really kewl.

Like buy out or finance Amiga resurgance ?

Must be a pop star out there thats tried just about everything and is so pissed off with not finding anything "new" to do that the Amigas revival would be an interesting challenge for them ?

Hey, gotta try and get the hundreds of "Celebrity Surfers" to invest (?) in us !!

Very true.
However, there would be one way to prove it beyond doubt: it would be enough starring in a marketing campaign for the launch of AOS4 - for free, of course
If he's really who he says to be, if he likes AOS4 as he says, if he has the knowledge of and care for the platform as he shows, I can hardly see any major problem there
