E-UAE - Fastest Settings?

Hey, Ive recently reformatted my Pegasos 1, and before that I had E-UAE installed for very hardware banging stuff! But When I had it installed it allways ran slow (im running it on a G3 600mhz Pegasos 1 April 2).

I was just wondering if any of you that use E-UAE on your A1's or Pegasos's can give me some configuration data to use with it to give me the fastest settings?

Im hoping to use it with Amiga In A Box at a decent speed.

Thanks for any help!

@DBAlex

AIAB is still quite slow on eUAE, same goes for AmigaSYS2 (although this is
kinda useable), try with a clean 3.1 install and upgrade if possible, fastest
system you can get (no patches, no fancy gfx somethings, no gimmicks)

I know it because i have both installed and AIAB seems more polished, but is
also slow as hell, believe me (gimmicks like changing icons when one moves the
cursor over it, ain't good for speed)

Anyway, here's my .uaerc (some may be already obsolete or not at all implemented

@DBAlex

I use E-UAE daily and I would love to answer this or post my config for you but I think through my own stupidity I have just about killed my A1. I have not had a nice day.

Anyhow back to your problem, lets us know how Raziel's config went.

Cheers

@Raziel

Damn, its not working at all!

I edited the filesystem2 bit and added where my AIAB files were but its not loading them? Im running the UAE file not the UAEWB? (UAEWB won't run on Morphos)

Can you help?

Heres the part of my UAEConfig im having trouble with:

filesystem2=rw,DH0:Work:E-UAE/AIAB/Harddrives/Workbench,1
filesystem2=rw,DH1:Work:E-UAE/AIAB/Harddrives/HD-Games,1
filesystem2=rw,DH2:Work:E-UAE/AIAB/Harddrives/Applications,1

All that loads is the ROM promt?

Help! Thanks !

@DBAlex

If you are interested in 68000 CPU, the following basic config works well for me. In the past, I've played around with sound settings, but defaults seem to work just fine.

I'm running E-UAE 0.8.29-WIP3 AmigaOS4/PPC binary with SDL graphics on a MicroA1.

I am emulating an Amiga 2000HD with 68000 CPU and Amiga OS3.1 kickstart rom.

In Canada we had NTSC. If you need PAL, I think you can remove the line that says "ntsc=true"

***Note:***
All my E-UAE stuff is in a drawer called E-UAE on my main AmigaOS4 partition. Inside the E-UAE drawer I have my Kick.rom, a few .adf files and Workbench drawer. When I launch E-UAE my Workbench drawer becomes the disk drive called DH0: with a volume name of Workbench.
***********

# UAE Configuration File for Amiga OS 4.0 version of E-UAE 0.8.29-WIP3 SDL
# emulating NTSC Amiga 2000HD with OS 3.1
#

joyport0=mouse
joyport1=kbd1

kickstart_rom_file=AmigaOS4:E-UAE/Kick.rom
filesystem2=rw,DH0:Workbench:AmigaOS4:E-UAE/Workbench,1

cpu_type=68000
chipset=OCS
ntsc=true
cpu_speed=max
cpu_compatible=no
cpu_24bit_addressing=no
chipmem_size=2
fastmem_size=4
gfx_fullscreen_amiga=true
gfx_fullscreen_picasso=yes
gfx_linemode=double
gfx_width=640
gfx_height=480
gfx_center_horizontal=simple

Those are directory, right?
If not (if these are hardfiles, you have to change ot to the hardfile2 line)

Also, drop the 1 and replace it with 0 on all non-bootable "HDs", that goes for
HD-Games and Applications in your case

Plus i see you named all three WORK, change that, make it like this:

filesystem2=rw,DH0:System:E-UAE/AIAB/Harddrives/Workbench,1
filesystem2=rw,DH1:Games:E-UAE/AIAB/Harddrives/HD-Games,0
filesystem2=rw,DH2:Apps:E-UAE/AIAB/Harddrives/Applications,0

Ahh, It Works now, Nevermind...

Thanks for all your help!

I tried running AIAB, its too slow though, so im reverting to WB 3.1 (Using legal files from Amiga Forever 2005) And its quite snappy!

This means I can finally use Deluxe Paint on my Pegasos!

Hi @DBAlex

Euae has no JIT! I use AIAB & AmiKit. AmiKit was spedup by
throwing away KenLesterJr icons! Also, using IconBeFast
utility. For example, Virgola Icons work faster!

I never was able to unpack the exe of AmiKit on the Amiga, so never tried or
used AmiKit, would love to, but nogo for me, very sad...

@Snuffy

using "IconBeFast" with AmiKit might be dangerous because its job is already done by AfA_OS in AmiKit 1.1.0 and better.

@lionstorm

It's threads like this that makes me think that it would be a Good Thing(tm) to have something addressing this issue dropped into the Tutorials section of AW.net. Of course I'd do it myself but I'm up to my shaggy eyebrows in my own E-UAE problems and would love a helping hand of my own... :)
