| I`ve a Laser printer (HP-1018) that lacks AMiGA drivers (it`s a host-based printing language, only WinXP drivers ).
But I`ve tried something that worked perfectly on an emulated AMiGA: using WinUAE, set with Ghostscript on the PC side, and general PS printer on the WB side, I`ve managed to print text & graphics.
The question:
Is it possible to do this with a real AMiGA? Streaming the PS data from the Amiga side through LAN to the PC, where the printer is connected. Acrobat PDF printer & Ghostscript is installed on the PC side.
(AMIGA PS->PC GS/PDF->1018 driver->Printer ) _________________ Ordell Robbie: Is she dead, yes or no? Louis: Pretty much. |

Install LPR server on PC side and use lpr.device on amiga side...
You could also try using samba (printer declared in samba prefs).
I guess there's several solution. Personally i choose Brother laser printers (ethernet model with usb and // connectic) so i could send my .ps file on network, via // or usb cable, via ftp or even email ! So no problems of "windows only printers"... but i still need a decent support of my MFC 8460 in FxScan
Arnaud an AmigaOS and MorphOS user (and Zindoze / Linux / MacOSX)

I'll have to check now margins/borders, and typefaces (greek fonts?!)

The OS4Final version of the PostScript printer driver always prints in the current system default charset. So when your printer has builtin PostScript fonts which include greek glyphs, simply select greek as preferred language in the Locale prefs editor before printing a greek (ISO-8859-7) text.
