@NutsAboutAmiga

Yeah, that thread is going to be an insipid stir up soup. Nothing against the writers, of course, but after reading hundred of time: see 2001 contract, page 1 annex 2, comma 3....
Come on: we want back our amiga computer and our OS.

Don't complain to us. Go complain to those who are fighting instead of cooperating.

@ssolie

read post #5. I have nothing against the thread poster, i'ts just this situation. It's frustating from the users point of view. Oops... i said users, i can't really say that i am an amiga users, cause i have not OS4, nor an hardware to run the OS on. I'm waiting since years, now. Really fed up of the various promises.

I think it isnt going to end soon... I wouldnt be surprised if it would take another 2 years to get all the crap sorted out.

But then I wouldnt be surprised either if it would be end of the line for AOS as we know it.

Sure AROS looks promising but who is going to write professional software for it ? If software doesnt apear for OS4 MOS or whatever, why would AROS be any different ? sigh...

Something realy good has to happen soon ! I dont care if Ainc goes down or Hyperion does, as lomg as something happens to take the OS forward like we all want it. (ok, I realize that hyperion is our best shot , so I want them to stay....)

So.... I'm glad I got that of my chest....

Mart

edit: pesky typos...

@AmigaBlitter
So is pretty much everyone, except the lawyers. Personally I'm concentrating on doing something constructive/enjoyable, rather than worrying about it.

(I'm going back to sticking needles in my BIll McEwan voodoo doll now...)

I wonder how much money Kouri & co have planned to sink into this vendetta before they cut their losses.

@smithy

Wouldn't have more sense start selling OS4 and new hardware to get revenues instead of loosing money in this way?

And you are implying intelligence in the center of that black hole . . .

Vision is lacking, so doing the stupid is quite normal . . . Considering the sources, do you really expect more

Yes, that would be a great idea, incredible no one has thought about it.

Oh wait... do you have a license to do that ?

This court battle is going to go on for years, and years, and years, and years, and years, and years, and years, and years, and years.

At least it's possible to obtain AROS for cheap hardware. It has a long way to go, but at least there's nothing stopping it.

Next June-ish should see the new web browser and the UAE integration finished, which will bring it up close to the same level as OS4 and MOS.
