Slightly related, I heard the plugin format for "the official player" is open (gstreamer), so you can just install gstreamer0.10-modplug and have mod music support without the usual hassle (as seen on f.ex. symbian) of "having to switch between mp3 / other formats music players" |

I also congratulate you. I have a very good friend who got his last November and has been inseparable from it.
He walked up to me that 1st day and coyly guided me into causing a Linux prompt. I was very surprised to find it was real.
Then I started seeing the keyword Maemo everywhere it seems.
It would be a load of fun to get him to put UAE on there and play an Amiga-only retro game.
Everyone at the table where we were drinking teased him unmercifully when he showed off a game that requires guiding a ball using the internal accelerometers. "That kind of money for a $1 plastic import game with a B-B on cardboard?"

Maemo is Linux to its core. Not Linux like Palm's WebOS or Google's Android, where Linux serves as embedded OS. It is just Linux distribution (Debian) with finger-friendly interface and suit of cool applications. That's why it is a perfect gadget for me.
