| Here's a couple of pictures of items I spotted on various photo galleries and would be interested to buy if only I knew where to order it from...
Boing mouse:
Checkmark mousepad:
Any idea?

| The design of that mousepad is also by the German A1k.org forum, but freely available at www.amigafuture.com. The "aqua-mice" are a design by a forum-meber at a1k.org, you must be registered there to read at "Allgemeines" (German language). They are planninig to produce another charge of 50 to 100 mice, they cost about 15 EUR plus shipping. They are produced in China, so it will be awfull lot of problems for Amiga-dealers to sell them in Europe. You have to prove that they are "RoHS-conform", import from China, you have to give 2 years warranty in Germany, etc. So we kept it private.
The new mouse will be slightly different in design, it will look like this (the photo is a mockup, not a prototype):
Maybe Amigakit or another dealer is interested in import directly from China? Please contact me, if you are interested. Last edited by DrZarkov on 26-Jul-2010 at 08:56 AM. | @ZeroG Thanks for the links
@DrZarkov Thank you for the additional info.
I don't think RoHS rules should apply to Amiga hardware because we would never throw our hardware away!
I think the mouse would look nicer if it used black instead of white for that U-shaped plastic under the Amiga logo as the red letters would stand out more, and I'd avoid putting the anniversary dates on it because it will make it look "dated" once 2010 is over
But even if they looked like the mockup I'd buy one or more.

But the Chinese equivalent of "RoHS" is even stricter than the European version, so why is that going to be a problem? _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean. |

Because it's *not* the European version. Most territories do this, the company I work for designs and builds instruments, and we have to get separate certification for sale in the USA and in Europe, even though they're almost the same specification. Two audits looking at the same things, simply because they don't fully recognise the certification of the other territory. _________________ RobTheNerd.com | InstallerGen | SMBMounter | Atoms-X |

Because you have to buy batteries for them and they kinda have no real benefit over a regular mouse. Its not like they are lithium batteries or whatever comes in a mobile phone these days that can last for ages and simply be recharged.
But your reading a post from a person that will regularly rub batteries on his jumper to keep his TV remote going for another year! =p
Batteries are evil and expensive.
