Yes, people... your beloved brand is dead. Not in name yet, but in spirit.

As evident by the good deal of community who are opposed to any progress or change other that they find acceptable by their own standards which nobody but them understands. It's not just OS4 many of you will be thinking I'm criticizing, I'm also talking about both AROS and MorphOS crowd of which a good deal of people seem to be unwilling to let bygones be bygones.

And so, in a few years, when Amiga is dead and officially buried, do not be sad, upset or confused with what just happened because you will get exactly what most of you wanted and rightfully deserved.

as the romans would say, "Sic est in fatis"

Thank goodness for fresh faced people like you. Here I was thinking that after 25 years, I understood what was happening and even had a minor part in the way things were going.

Your fresh inspiration has enlightened me. I can see that even though you joined only a few weeks ago, you have already absorbed the whole history of the Amiga story and can now speak with authority.

Thank you for your input.

@whose

it's called reality... don't use too much of it at first and let it sink slowly in...

Amiga as we know it is dead since 1994. Yet, here we are, playing with our toys. Kissing buttocks of some guy who secured Amiga name (or not) won't change that. He can declare himself a King of Poland and I'm still here, not caring.

There's no day going by without me thinking that cutting "Amiga" out of MorphOS was awesome strategy. Now they are master of their own tiny universe. There's no Barry, the CEO that could eat their dinner.

I will be leaving amiga world(in general)... I was hoping for a good fun and some learning, but I guess the only thing to learn here is how not to enjoy a computer experience...

I'd be probably interested in doing something like Anubis OS in the future. Those of you who'd like a fresh start I would welcome gladly to a project like that

You're funny, you guys cram a load of alternate OS posts down our throats all day & expect us to all keel over? Give us a break, the death of amiga has been predicted for years now.

edit: opi request

Can you edit your post? CommodoreUSA/Amiga is not about AROS in any way. He uses AROS because it is free. I wouldn't trust them if they would shove AmigaOS4 or MorphOS. So think before you'll call others work "crap", OK? Thanks.

Please stop this Opi. I find myself agreeing with your posts of late and I find it rather unsettling.

spot the Troll!

and remember kids unless it X86 based or something that costs 10k to match the specs it's YOUR own fault for wanting something different !!

I mean lemmings was after all an Amiga game ..... after all why dont we all just install windows on our X86 Amiga. Using Anubis just doesn't make sense compared to Win7
but hey don't blame me when Anubis fail's just remember your inability to accept reality got you where you are because your spirit is dead.

A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.

What melodrama.

Did it occur to any of you, that if we actually get AROS on Commodore's machines, then through significantly increasing the userbase there is the possibility of more software coming into the entire Amiga eco-system. I'm sure AROS apps can fairly easily be cross-compiled to each of the other Amiga-like OSes.

And if we do succeed, a rising tide raises all ships.

If you want an X1000 then please go and buy one.
If you want a used PPC Mac running MorphOS then please go and buy it.
If you want an Amiga branded PC that runs AROS, AND the mainstream OS of your choice, then you might consider one of our future machines....or not.
It is entirely up to you.
I don't see why you have to see this as a sign of the apocalypse.
The best stuff is yet to come.

No one has put a gun to your head and said, "stop what you're doing".

Have fun. But don't dictate to the rest of us how to do it.
Different strokes for different folks.

@BigBentheAussie

Leo, look you've been around the scene long enough to know that by associating with AInc that only bad blood within the community can come of it. Now please take this back to your office and consider joining forces with AROS only and keep the curse of AInc away from your start up company !

I really do wish you luck and success with the new Commodore PC's.
