Help with Amiga 500 floppy please!

I just bought a Chinon FB-354 (Amiga 500/2000) replacement floppy for an older musical instrument, of all things. Can anyone tell me how I go about setting the jumper ID to 0? I have scoured the web for info on this to no avail. I see the jumper block on the back but im not sure what the various settings are. The jumpers at the moment are on the lower level of the 6 pins shorted between the first and the second row. I tried changing the jumpers once...and got very odd results. So instead of taking more chances... I decided to ask you guys for help.

P.S. All the research I had to do to find a compatible drive, now has me interested in Purchasing an Amiga system. *sigh* I feel yet another hobby I cant afford coming into the mix.

Thanks in advance for any and all replies,
Jrides

@jrides

DS0 should be the jumper to be set according to this info I found:

"All drives should be jumpered as DS0, Drive 0. This is contrary
to PC convention, where all drives are DS1. DF0:, the first Amiga floppy,
is set as DS0, on a connector without the flip in the cable. The second
floppy, DF1: should be on the connector with a flip in the cable, but still
set as DS0. Power is supplied from the mini 4 pin floppy power connector,
and the drive is secured to the drive tray with a set of screws."

And good look becoming a new Amiga fanatic - in that case, welcome to the family

@zarch

Thanks for the attempt at help. I also found that info online. It isnt quite what I needed though. My needs are more based around how to determine the jumper settings on back of the floppy. Hopefully someone can provide more insight. Amiga fanatic.....lol. Yeah..it really looks like that is gonna be the case. Poor me.

@jrides

to AmigaWorld. We're all Amiga fanatics here (at least almost).

About the diskdrive I guess you could try hard/hack on Aminet, other than that I don't know.

Well fellas... I couldnt figure it out. Moving the jumper once.. made the screen on my babygirl get all fuzzy. I didnt want to chance messing my keyboard up with further experimentation, so I am letting this baby go. If anyone is interested, its on sale on Ebay here:

Ebay Listing: Amiga A500, A2000, A3000 drive

Thanks for all your help and attention in this matter. I still may end up an Amiga user yet.
