| AEROS-AOS-companion (like bridgeboard or siamese system, the second generation)
WTF?: -Amigan friendly system to use for heavy stuff with/from low power AOS HW -AEROS can be used from AOS system (and vice versa) -mini-itx size board can be put inside AOS4 HW case to reduce desk space usage -ARM-computer-in-a-USB-stick could be usable as well -enables the access of x86&ARM linux + aeros content (SW, resources, I/O) from AOS machine
Enablers & use cases: -vnc, siameseRTG-SecondGeneration -3D: LW screamer, blender render net -video: h264 encoding accelerator (cluster node) -coding: crosscompile tools, compiling accelerator (cluster node) -additonal displays (remote public screens)
CONNECTIONS: -10/100/1000 ethernet link for basic use (vnc, siameseRTG) -USB2 (later USB3) connection for faster than ethernet link communication -PCIe link to make aeros system function as a super accelerator/display card --enables SWAP to AROS RAM disk --enables 1080p/h264 playback (to aeros display or streamed back to AOS machine in CDXL or MPEG2 --enables 3D display for SAM460ex without 3D card
Good idea? Silly idea? Last edited by KimmoK on 11-Jan-2012 at 12:51 PM. Last edited by KimmoK on 11-Jan-2012 at 12:50 PM. Last edited by KimmoK on 11-Jan-2012 at 12:48 PM.

ARM as a extension board? Or how do you mean it? |

| @ Hi,
actually "Amiga on a stick" is what i am aiming too.
I also considered this for classic Amigas:

You need to understand that an ARM can emulate classic amigas too.
In the moment i would also tend to following solution:
ARM based system + PUAE + embeded Keyrah + embedded catweazel
->small enough to fit in any original Amiga.
Another nice gadget would be an "Amiga on a stick" Most modern and every new build TV has at least one USB-port (power source) and HDMI. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! Yes because the thing would be in both case a system for its own. You could switch between ARM systen and original Amiga in runtime. Wether with a custom switch(button) or via software.
Like having two computer on the desk sharing input and output devices. Just in this case the second computer fits completely into the case of the other. _________________ AROS Broadway - AEROS - Aminux - AmiCloud - indieGO! | @phoenixkonsole Basically like the PC-cards for Amigas in the past, just smaller, cooler( temperature wise), less power hungry.
