Memorial services were held for Amiga engineer Dave Needle on March 12. You can find a few photos of the late-night after-event at

Does anyone know how he died? I've heard roumors that he commited suicide because of depression he got after his wife died. But I don't know at all if it's true or not.

@yasu

That's especially tragic if that's the case.

I don't recall any mention of memorial donations to a particular charity. Perhaps this is why.

Yes. Please don't spread this around as I don't want this rumour to become "truth". It's just a rumour for now. I'm simply looking for confirmation so we can know for sure. But I guess we will simply never know for sure, unless someone here sits on relevant information.

@Yasu

Why is it important? Why do ask about that?

Who owns the Lorraine prototype? Is it Trevor? He would love to have that if he doesn't already.

No offence to Trevor, but thankfully not. IIRC it is owned by Dale Luck.

Correct.

As for Dave's death, I can only say that family, friends, and Amiga friends visited him in the hospital. They said Dave knew that he was going to pass.

And now I won't say anymore on that matter,

@Yasu

Sounds like that may not have been the case.

It's a tragic loss to community either way.

And for those wondering why we ask: it's common to donate to causes in the memory of someone we cherished.
