@Brutus

HDToolBox sees all drives as SCSI drives. Start it up and tell it to read the configuration from the drive. If the SIZE matches then you are good to go.

How do I do that? I only have one possibility - change drive type and then Define new type...

EDIT: I have found the button . read config. from drive, but I can not use it:( I dont know why...

@Brutus

1. Select CHANGE DRIVE TYPE
2. select DEFINE NEW
3. select READ CONFIGURATION
a requester may pop up, select continue, it will then tell you all the info about the drive and size.
4. select OK
5. select OK again
a requester may pop up again, so select CONTINUE
6. select PARTITION DRIVE
7. make you Workbench at least 10Mb (make sure you select BOOTABLE) and name it DH0
8. make WORK partition 110Mb and name it DH1 (Do Not select BOOTABLE)

save your changes and exit HDToolbox

Now use the Format command it the Workbench menu to format the partitions....if there no icons for the drive.then reboot with a Workbench floppy and select Format in the Workbench/Sytem drawer................name the 10MB partition Workbench and the 110Mb Partition Work

Im not sure of the accuracy of everything I just said.................... But I hope it helps

From: I'm actually flying into a bug!

I remember at one time when I didn't have a mouse connected but wanted to set up some partition on a disk, and it wouldn't work with the keyboard "clicking" method.

That I think, has been rectified since v40 HDToolbox though.

Choose "Quick Format", there is no need to sit through a full format (unlike on certain other operating systems I could mention but won't).

If you have Kickstart 3.1, don't use Directory Caching mode.
