I think you'll need a real ROM coming from an A600, not that "A500/A600" ROM... had the same problem when fitting a ROM on my A500 back then.

@Mangaclub

I also have an old A2000 Rev4 made in germany.

I'm not sure if i used KS 2.05 or 2.04 (iirc it came from an A600 so it should be 2.05, i can check it in a few hours if it's printed on the KS)

Anyway something that i'm sure about is that you have jumpered the KS wrong on the picture and that you don't need to bend any legs

Some one correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that kickstart 2.05 was just for A600 as it has support for the A600 on board IDE connector and the PCMCIA slot, kickstart 2.04 was for the A500 and A2000. Some early A600s did ship with kickstart 2.04 but you had to upgrade to kickstart 2.05 or 3.1 before you could use the onboard IDE and PCMCIA expansion slots.

I would have still expected it to work on an A2000 but maybe they had to take parts out to make room for the newer SCSI.device with IDE support and the additional module for PCMCIA support.

Time to confirm your ROMs are in working order, just to make sure you didn't beat the odds and got two faulty ROMs.

Does the red screen happen both at cold startup and at a three-finger reboot?

@Mangaclub

And do you have the same results if you apply gentle pressure on the ROM while booting? Just had a look at the back-side of the PCB picture and it looks as if the socket has been replaced or something as the solder-joints don't look as if they are factory standard.

@Amiga_3k

ahyesh appens also after softreset, but 1.2/1.3 kickstart works out fine so i doubt that it has something todo with the socket. Well i will make a softjumpering on the other kickstart from pin 1 to 31 without soldering, and see what happens.

@Mangaclub

Ok good news, the MX Rom works fine with a non soldered connection between pin 1 and 31. Thx all for the advices seems the other rom is bought as defective.
