@Yssing

With hub you mean a splitter?

Something like Quaddddroport picture and info here, don't know where you can buy one though.

If you're good with a soldering iron - and you trust yourself - it is possible to build one yourself. I built one years ago and it worked fine, though it only gave 2 ports. Some day I'll get around to uploading the schematic to my website so anyone can have a go at making one.

@Daedalus

Yes please upload the schematic, would be great. Then some people can try getting a batch made, there is at least a little demand for it as no one ever sees a secondhand clockport splitter on sale.

Does it need extra software to work, and do you know if all clockport devices should be compatible? (and what did you use on it)

@Calgor

I used a HyperCOM 3 and a Catweasel on it (seeing as the HC3 never worked off the expansion connector on the CatWeasel for some reason). The idea is that the clockport consists of a bunch of addresses which are repeated several times. With one device it doesn't have to worry about these, and writing to any of the "shadow" addresses will work for a driver. Clockport splitters just decode an extra 2 address lines which aren't normally available at the clockport and use them as an enable/disable for each port. Now, most drivers nowadays are aware of this addressing system, but some may not be, and these devices simply won't work with a splitter. You might have to ask the author if it's compatible with clock port splitters, but usually devices that can work on "extra" clockports, such as those found on Zorro cards, A500/600 hacks etc. will work with the splitter.

I'll dig it out and throw it up somewhere and post the link up here. Maybe tonight ;)

@rockape

Yup, it was with Ian Stedman's help (and Jens Schoenfeld's too) that I built my splitter. Both are incredibly knowledgeable on all things Amiga hardware related...

@Thread

Well, I'm up far later than I should be, but here it is in all its glory:

My website (Clockport Splitter section)

There's a description of how it works, along with some rough PCB layout drawings... Please let me know if any of you brave souls build it!
