Maybe somebody can add Natami emulation into EUAE.

@Metalheart

Looks like an attempt to take over the site On a more serious note: There are more.

OT: Hmm... so if they (Natami Team and A-EON) make it happen, then two interessting new machines will be available, oh sorry, three, the new SAM also... Exciting....

@clebin

It will be as expensive as any other custom hardware on the Amiga market today but probably wont get the same level of stick because it wont be tied in with AmigaOS 4.

Difficult times currently for NatAmi project, with near new Sam board and the "future" X1000, the people as I, now I'll choose a new Amiga PPC hardware, sorry but the NatAmi board goes very slow its development and with this PPC boards, well, I'll like run an fast OS4 than a fast OS3.x

@Uitgang

Very interesting project and good to see progress, hopefully the board will be a standard form factor (mini-ITX?) and not too expensive, but I suspect those 060 CPUs may carry a hefty price tag.

I'm kind of hoping the XMOS chip on the X1000 will be used for some sort of classic Amiga chipset emulation, if its possible? Would be pretty cool if it did and even cooler if OS4 hit this custom 'hardware' directly without any E-UAE needed to run old games etc. Who knows, maybe this is a card Hyperion/A-EON are keeping close to their chests?

@Templario

A-Eon is hiring an external company for making a generic PPC computer using off-the-shelf parts.
The Natami Team is building a modern classic Amiga from scratch with just a few enthusiasts.
So of course Natami progress is slow. Most of the time has been spent remaking the Amiga chipset to make use of pipelined bursts.

Natami is a far more ambitious undertaking than the X1000 - actually reviving unique Amiga hardware and not just making another "AmigaOne" which only true Amiga part is the sticker.
If you do not care about Amiga hardware, and want to run OS4 only - then sure, the Natami might not be for you.

@Thread

Gunnar is optimistic, but it is quite possible that the new Natami board will be available before the end of the year, or at least in production by then, since things are looking promising. Do not take this as some kind of absolute release date or deadline, though - the Natami is a community-driven hobby project.
I wouldn't be surprised if Thomas Hirsch has some news in a not so distant future.

@Daniel

Yes, the 060 cards are expensive to make and might cost almost as much as the Natami board itself. Therefore, they will most likely be most useful for compatibility testing and development purposes.
Since the N68050 softcore is very far in it's development, a normal Natami user would most likely want to stick with the softcore coming free with the Natami and refrain from buying an additional 060 card. Besides, the N050 is more advanced that the 060 in several fields already.

Regarding the XMOS chip being useful for emulating an Amiga - I do not think it will. The XMOS chip is best suited for doing I/O tasks like automation and process control. But we shall see if the special implementation of the chip in the X1000 makes more ambitious projects possible.
