Hi guys - Long time lurker, but never post much. Can anyone please tell me if this adapter:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Angle-CF-2-5-IDE-44-PIN-Hard-Drive-Adapter-Compact-Flash-Amiga-600-1200-/110830845193?pt=UK_VintageComputing_RL&hash=item19ce087d09

will work with an Amiga 2000 computer, or Amiga 3000? I've lucked into some extra money, and thinking of getting back in the Amiga game! I primarily want it for gaming, so I think a stock Amiga 2000 would be the most affordable route...

Thanks!

@jabeck

Welcome!

A stock A2000 does not have any harddisk interface, be it scsi or ide unless you mean the A2000HD. If you have a zorro ide card I think this adapter might work...

Ah - good to know! I did not know that as I only had an Amiga 500 back in the day, that has long been dead and gone... So what would be a good, relatively cheap Amiga to look for on eBay or otherwise, that would work with a hard drive, and/or one of these CF flash adapters?

Also, does anyone know if or when AmigaKit will get the new/old stock Amiga 1200's? That would be ideal...

Depending on what you want, have you thought about the Minimig?

@Amiga_3k

I hadn't considered it before - Is there a compatibility list somewhere as far as games go? I assume it can work with WHDLoad etc...? All things I can look up myself I guess... :)

Oh, I should also add that I do have a slight interest in running old software that I still have such as an old version of Imagine, and the Disney Animation Studio, and Vista Pro...

@jabeck

You most probably need a functioning Amiga floppy-drive for those I guess?

If it's AGA you'll be considering as well you might have a read into the FPGA-Arcade-board.

From what I've read is that the Minimig is pretty compatible with classic Amigas but I must admit that I have not used one in real life.
