Last Jabberwocky beta from 19.9.2007 is avilable for download....
Note: *The Jabberwocky XML parser (Iksemel library) has been updated to the latest available version in order to make Jabberwocky more XMPP compliant (http://www.xmpp.org) and work with newer Jabber servers. In most cases, Jabberwocky remains backward compatable with old Jabber servers. *We suggest assigning the program & message logs to "ram:" or a data partition to avoid disk errors in the event of a system failure. Activating all program and message logging will result in a lot of disk access which increases the probability of disk failure if the operating system crashes or freezes. *If you activate the new 'built-in' connection checks, you should not use the "checkconnect" ARexx script. The script no longer works if conection checks are performed by Jabberwocky. *Jabberwocky now supports multiple accounts in the Account window and the "Jabber Account Manager" (JAM) should no longer be needed. JAM may conflict with the operation of Jabberwocky. *The Jabberwocky directory should now contain a "charsets" subdirectory where charset files should be located.
...and whit this version amessage.de server work again...meeeep meeep
I'm using amessage.be server and never experienced unavailability longer than a day. So this is strange or is server side related problem. On the other hand this could have been that you were using a (very) old JabberWocky version because from the feature list you quoted only the last one is new compared to latest 1.7 official stable release and so cannot improve your connection. Nonetheless this version brings at least two bug fixes (that were causing crashes on OS4 at least) and un updated localization.
Finally remember this is a beta version so if you find bug report them directly on the jabberwocky ML or using the sourceforge.net bug tracker (first report on the ML is preferred though).

Did just a quicktest. jabber.fr seemed to work. I got both icq and msn users. Jabber.dk msn worked as it was already configured but i couldn't add icq after removing it. "unknown iq packet"

If you tried to add icq at jabber.dk it probably failed because there doesn't seem to be any icq transport there anymore. The "unknown iq packet" probably indicates the server responded with some sort of error message. Eventually we need to parse those to give the user a better idea of what went wrong.
I think VooDoo quoted the notes from the readme and not the changes. Main change is the updated XML parser which fixes some problems in the previous version that prevented connection with some servers. Abalaban also added code to get the external IP address from the Jabberwocky WEB site for those who are sending file transfers through a router. I'm on dialup and haven't been able to test Jabberwocky file transfers through a router but it should work.

Tester Jabber.fr and seemed to work ok with both msn & icq.
Jabber.dk worked with msn. I tried adding icq (using AIM/ICQ agent) and most of the times i got only "unknown iq packet" I had after some time luck to get up and regiser (accept & subscribe) to icq. But it never showed up in rooster window. I restarted and the same. So all icq users are offline. After some time a girl showed up in chat window. But nothing in rooster window. So i added her and she was up.
After restarting Jabber she was gone again offline.

I tried to respond to your comment on the Jabberwocky ML but as you may have read on the list, my messages are being blocked/delayed to all Yahoo Groups for some reason. I don't know if this will get resolved or not so people won't be hearing from my on Yahoo Groups mailing lists for now.
We have been telling users for several years that the AIM/ICQ transports are not very reliable. Even if you get one to work, it frequently fails to show when your contacts are online. The seperate ICQ transports work best. It is possible to register with transports (agents) that are not on the same server as your account. You can open the Agents window, enter a Jabber server ID in the "ServerID" gadget and click "Visit". The transports at that server will be loaded into the agent list and you can register with them. Some servers block users from registering from another server but most allow you to do it. The big drawback is that you will need to remove all your ICQ contacts before registering at another ICP transport and resubscribe them through your new transport.
I hope this info helps.
