| As Piru said on MorphZone, Quote:
Here's a video I shot some time ago. It shows my PowerBook G4 system booting up the MorphOS 3.0 (development branch):
PowerBook-G4-MorphOS-3-sneak-preview.mp4
Please note that this isn't official confirmation of any kind. A lot of support infrastructure for laptop usage is still missing, as well as some drivers.
PS. Sorry for the poor video quality. PPS. We don't need any beta testers for the PowerBook version for now. |
More than worth a look!
Kind regards, Andrea |

Very interesting. Now both AROS and MorphOS run on laptops, leaving OS4 as the only NG system that doesn't. |

| Great !! Looks nice.
Hyperion has to come up with some interesting stuff in the near future or they will loose customors to AROS and MorpOS.
(I'm not intending to set up an OS discussion here, mind you)
We need a few things to be a succes (as Amiga like OS's concern)
-Portability (as in laptops/phones/pda's) -Cheap powerful hardware -Applications (profesional ones)
So this is another step in the right direction I think

Hey... if that's all for real than great... The first modern Amiga Laptop. I'm still keeping tabs on the LimePC Z9 notebooks, but nothing to report. Only good news is that the company is still working with FreeScale and units are available in mass quantities. I hope this continues to be the case! |

Excellent! I was hoping for an OS4 port since the lawsuit was settled, but it sounds like Hyperion are not willing to do a Mac version.
I have two PowerBook G4 laptops, and will definitely try Morphos when this becomes available.

This is great, but I guess the port will take some time until it will be completely finished. As I saw with the mini already Apple did build quite some good hardware. And the powerbook even reaches higher clock speeds! Guess there will be another laptop in my possesion soon... _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

Since your powerbook should have a Radeon 7500 chances aren't too low it will work. But I guess it will take some time until a release can be expected. Support isn't even confirmed yet officialy, though I guess chances are rather high the powerbook support will be added in one of the next releases. But next supported hw will be the emac which may be nice for those looking for a very cheap maschine to toy around with or those who already have one.
And regarding your paid price, I don't kow how much a good price would be, but just put your price in relation to the beer price at the Oktoberfest and the powerbook looks like a bargain. _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |
