@Drako

Impressive! it's interesting to see that semi-fullscreen requires less cpu than smaller video. Perhaps fullscreen uses overlay and smaller size doesn't. Can't wait to put my paws on it!

@thread

So html5 is so much better and faster than Flash. What about making swfdec and Flash to work that fast too ?

@Crumb

It's indeed using overlay for that "fullwindow" mode, which is of course quite faster than going through webkit rendering system (especially with a sw surface).

@Tomppeli

The real blocker in swfdec/gnash isn't only the rendering system (which could indeed be made very fast in some particular modes), but the script interpretation itself.

@fab

Seem you have do with MOS OWB with large distance the best AOS browser.

Artur have now compile Cairo for 68k and i was very keen to try compile MOS OWB for 68k.maybe other want do for AROS or OS4 too and all browser devs can work together on 1 source tree, because it seem the other OWB developers have maybe not the coding knowledge you have, or the time.

when you release 1.8 please release also the source.

@bernd_afa

I spent allot of hours trying to find out how to download it from source code depository.

But after downloading it found out quickly that you need Linux PPC to cross compile, I might take look at it again, when get X1000

@bernd_afa

I'll probably put a more recent source archive when i find a less sucking host, but in the meanwhile, there's still OWB 1.4 sources to be found on my site. That said, adapting it to OS3, OS4 or AROS isn't totally trivial, as MUI 4 deps and other MorphOS specifics need to be adapted first (not there are that many, but still). And of course, the beast should be crosscompiled because of the build system (cmake isn't ported to any amigaos-like), but this is better like that, anyway, unless you want hours of compilation.

@NutsAboutAmiga

it looks like cross compilers are for x86 and x86_64

now its time to check out andlinux.org and colinux

EDIT:

andLinux does not work on x86_64bit, you need a old x86_32bit cpu

>That said, adapting it to OS3, OS4 or AROS isn't totally trivial, as MUI 4 deps and >other MorphOS specifics need to be adapted first

GUI stuff is not much need to use a browser.
when i do that, i prefer to use zune and add MUI4 classes replacement or dummy code if need, or if there is a problem make AFA more MOS compatible.Because MOS is based on AROS, so there is not much to do (except MUI classes) i hope.

>And of course, the beast should be crosscompiled because of the build system >(cmake isn't ported to any amigaos-like), but this is better like that, anyway, unless >you want hours of compilation.

I have try crosscompile some time ago on cygwin, when there was no MOS OWB out and no AROS OWB, i try the OS4 OWB.i can compile a lot, but i dont want add unnecessary changes when OWB is no full browser with good video support and flash.

I get then the thinking, that Jörg only want do OWB because people should buy OS4 and the 68k OWB should show the users, that only OS4 is able to run a browser.

I ask him for example for the mmap replacement for amigaos that he change the amigaos4 define to a define that is valid on all AOS, because his mmap replacement can work on all AOS.

This i do in amiganews Forum, so everybody can read. but he wont do that, and i see that his OWB not really grow as expectet and the bounties he get, so i have no hope about OS4 OWB to become a full browser, and so i better safe my time.
