| @alpyre Both of those are excellent, and almost exactly what I was thinking of. Your ball looks sufficiently round that it doesn't need the translucent look, so I'd love either of those.
Only slight problem is your "shiny highlight" has too much of a sharp edge, so it looks a bit false. Otherwise fantastic! _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

I don't think that everything has to have boing balls just because it is an Amiga program |
I agree completely. There seems to be some sort of obsession with boing balls in this little community. Cheering the cause of AmigaOS is one thing. Plastering every single icon in boing balls is quite another. Put it this way: If every icon on your system had a boing ball on it, how would you tell them apart? Give each application it's own identity and allow it to stand out. If you must boing it, make it subtle!

how about a wolf in the picture? and timber... |
Yes! Perhaps a wolf wrapped around the sliced end of a log? Keeps parity with the original firefox logo, but more representative of this project's name._________________

| @gnarly I would like to see the icon for probably THE most important Amiga app (for a decade) to be noticably Amiga-ish, partly because it is sure to get a lot of press coverage.
And the Amiga does need SOME kind of symbol or logo of it's own - with the Boing Ball seeming to have been chosen by common acceptance, overriding the logos chosen by Commodore & Amiga Inc. And MorphOS has it's blue butterfly!
I never used to like the Boing Ball, but it has grown on me. I think it can be used *tastefully*, as long as it isn't over done. _________________ Author of the PortablE programming language. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue... |

I agree completely with this. This program is going to/is getting "a lot" of press coverage, probably outside the Amiga community too, therefore this is the perfect opportunity to the spread the Amiga trademark.
I agree also that the Boing Ball does not have to be in every Icon but in this case I believe it should have it. Why not? Because it's ugly or it's already in every icon? Perhaps, but the Boing Ball is an Amiga trademark and it should be spread with the most important Amiga program in years, IMHO._________________ AmigaOS 4.1 FEu2 on Sam440ep-flex 800MHz 1GB RAM C128, A500+, A1200, A1200/40, AmigaForever 2008+09+16, 5 x86/x64 boxes Still waiting (or dreaming) for the Amiga revolution... m4rko.com/AMIGA |

The name is Timberwolf, NOT Timberfox. We need a wolf. Or change the name to Timberfox._________________ Moxee AmigaOne X1000 AmigaOne XE G4 I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong. |

Any kind of named fox is fine with me as long as the icon shows a fox. But since the name says Timberwolf the icon should show a wolf, not a fox. Last edited by Moxee on 22-Oct-2009 at 04:56 PM.

Hello dear Amiga Users,
Nick Fasnacht a great Artist and I were thinking about a new logo for the upcoming Amiga Firefox port.
this ist the early result:
TIMBERWOLF LOGO
!!! Please don´t use this Image for modification it´s protected !!!
It´s a gift for the Amiga Community by Nick. I´m allowed to modifiy if needed.
What do you think?

Pretty cool - and very different from the "normal" type of icons / logos!
So I think it's great! _________________ Maintainer of www.bigbookofamigahardware.com |

Hauling Wolfes always have there eyes closed. Sorry that I can´t integrate sound directly into the artwork. You then would hear the Wolf isn´t dead at all
