I have een very very absent for a good long while now, I have not posted anything.
If this is true, PCI-X, TS108 and DDR2 - then we have just what we need.
That is a good robust combo capable of many uses.
However, don't count your chickens until Troika says something official.
I have believed that the delays were for a reason, if this is the reason I am very happy indeed.
In fact if it turns out to be true I am estatically happy.
The TS108 has many capabilities, it should be possible (software permitting), to get these babies working together easily. That is buy one, and then another and link them, buy a third for more power if you want. This could be the break we have been waiting for.
A simple unpretensious board, but one that with a little tweaking can be multiplied.
PCI-X, if it is there, will give the graphic punch we need.
Fingers crossed folks!

It's not only another bus what is needed. What is even more important are drivers for the graphic cards running on that bus. Just tell me what PCI-X graphic cards are currently supported. Good luck finding a Radeon 9200 for PCI-X. Warp3D anyone?_________________ This signature is in the middle of a much needed facelift! |

Led up the garden path - oh dear.
See what happens when you are not regular here for a while, you miss the subtle jokes (and not so subtle) and fall for them -- of well, no harm done.
@polka. PCI-X would make a very big difference, but of course drivers would be necessary. To me a perfect solution for our hardware would be a combination of PCI-X TS108 and a modest CPU at a good price. But until TS108 becomes cheap enough to be viable that is a pipe-dream at the moment.
The fact is that the technologies are there even if the prices arn't. A mosest CPU, with fast RAM access, PCI-X and the extensible qualities of the TS108 would be a great blessing.

Yep, I was just wondering why PCI-X was considered as the holy grail when there is not even a single OS4-supported graphic card with that bus currently available (correct me if I'm wrong). Even the faster PCI-cards (e.g. Radeon 9800) are not supported yet, so it still could be a lot of work to write Warp3D-capable drivers for cards such as the X600 and X800. Not even speaking of an update of Warp3D which would be required, too._________________ This signature is in the middle of a much needed facelift! |

PCI-X is useless for graphics cards anyway. AFAIK nobody except Matrox makes PCI-X gfx cards, and those ones are very specialist and thus hugely expensive._________________ Who do you serve, and who do you trust? - Galen |

| I've spotted a flaw in the motherboard design. The CPU is too close to the ATX power connector. |

Slightly off-topic, but this shows that Mindspace is definitely improving. Nice work.
