WTF?!?!?! I was expecting this to be posted here already, but apparently Wayne on Amiga.org emailed Amiga Inc. to see if they were still alive and "if the light is still on". Apparently they wrote back a long well-written reply and the opportunity to answer 25 questions directly from the Amiga community

On the 8th of September, Wayne will collect the questions and the moderators will correlate them and select the top 25 questions. Once selected, all of the questions will be passed directly to Amiga Inc.

Mr. McEwen has stated that he will answer 25 questions.

This could be interesting...

@Wayne

Comments are limited to amiga.org members and I don't intend to register there, so here are my questions if somebody with an amiga.org accounts wants to post them :

1 What will happen to amigaOS4 if no new hardware license is granted in 2006?

2 Can Hyperion and other programmers involved in AmigaOS4 decide to take their code back scrap any reference to the Amiga brand, call it let's say DancingBananaOS1.0, and port it to the harware platform they want ? (PPC or X86 or anything else)

3 Since Amiga Inc doesn't make the OS, doesn't make the hardware either, doesn't promote amigaOS and doesn't grant licences, inherently blocking amigaOS4 sales, what is exactly the value added by Amiga Inc for the amigaOS desktop user?

I don't know, I don't expect to be enlightened by anything they say. To tell the truth, I'm expecting something along the lines of "we've been working hard and that's why we've neen silent"

Hopefully, this won't go like it did in the movie Awakenings and revert back into their catatonick state soon after.

@Herewegoagain

Is that a positive attitude I'm detecting? Something must be up.... I hope.
I've already posted my question.

@Plaz

I'm very positive... Of course, I am positive most of the time, so I guess that doesn't prove much... But this september will be interesting for sure...

This is scary; the dead showing signs of life. I draped my motherboard with garlic. This can only mean trouble. Anybody got some holy water?

@thinkchip

I have some Holy water, if you swing by Michigan, Ill let you have some.

I sort of project the answers to be all about AmigaNowhere as we get the brush off again, leaving us feeling abandoned again.

Funny thing too, since I am usually a bit more optomistic.

It will be interesting to see what he says though, I guess I am just not expecting much.

I wonder if he sold Amiga to Bill Gates? Ahhhh!

Yea, so?

I can't even think of anything to ask, as they have no products I'm interested in, and they haven't been involved in OS4 in any way other than signing a piece of paper almost a decade ago.

If they had anything interesting to say, they've had years they could have said it in, yet we heard nothing. Unless something's changed, what's there to know?

Maybe that's a good question, "what's changed?"

Had to make a google-search to get that one! Don't have that type of expression in Danish...

Probably should have used optimistic instead!

Too right, your questions are EXACTLY the kind of questions that need answering.

Saddly...

Which means the questions that ultimately get sent are likely to be as useless as they are toothless.

1. What exciting ideas do you have for the future?

2. We're coming out of a dark period now, do you see a light also?

3. What is your favourite Amiga game?

etc.

I hope I'm wrong.
