as buttons are now used to launch user
Speaking of buttons, you guys got PayPal buttons?! I'm one of those people who don't mind to use them!! It's the only way I can show support for Amiga programs! _________________

I havenb't run Ibrowse from Amidisk . Quit amidisk then start IBrowse and immediately get dis errors that go on endlessly untill i kill program. thane I need to reboot to use Ibrowse. I I try to run ibrowse from AMidisk I get an message about "no source file selected". SO I quit amidisk before running IBrowse and crashing it.

hmmm... one slight problem, a lot of the buttons have full paths to the images instead of relative ones so if you don't install it in sys:utilities a lot of buttons just say error. _________________ OS4 Rocks X1000 beta tester, Sam440 Flex (733)

An other (more safe and quick) solution is to edit the prefs file and use the replace fonction of notepad. |

| @thread and to the author of amidisk
while i have to salute the work of the author and thanks him for supporting os4 by developing new apps, i really would like simple lister(s) with customizable toolbar. nothing that much elaborated as amidisk, just plain simple nice lister(s) with customizable toolbar.
this kind of app replace completly the need to use the workbench. which means it becomes almost all i see from my amiga. and that's too bad, cause i like workench and icons and menus and all. i don't want to see just amidisk when i power my amiga on. file manager have to integrate with workbench, not replace it, or replicate all it's functionalities. i hated magellan " replace workbench" function as much as i loved it's listers ;)
i hope simple customizable lister will comes soon on os4.. they proven to be the best way to do file management. you open 1 or 2 or 3 ..as much lister as needed, and they integrate well with wb, you still can use wb's menus, see your desktop !!! .. use amidock and everything. (as you can guess i'm not a big fan of dopus4... i only like dopus5 listers ;)
so, while amidisk looks interesting, i think it's too much complicated, and try to reinvent/replace completly your desktop, which i think is no good. i prefer to look at my cute customized wb with docks, clock, menu, background and all, than amidisk. the way amidisk is done, wb becomes useless.. but amidisk alone isn't that nice and beautiful as a desktop.
i will give it a try though. thanks for your hard work

Have you tried DiskMaster2 for OS4? It's simpler than AmiDisk and very configurable.

| @HunoPPC,
How do you change the height and or vertical position of the main window of AmiDisk 1.05?
I'm using a screen resolution of 1024x768, and the bottom of the window goes beyond the bottom of the screen.
I've tried changing the height through the preferences editor, and by directly editing the AmiDisk.prefs file. Neither procedure worked.
Adjustments to the horizontal position and width work.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Why

Great news! Roland FLORAC is one of my favourite programmers. His work on AmiCAD and AmiPCB is highly professional, and it's nice to see him working on OS4 native software.

First: Congratulations!
This is a real nice and interesting looking program. Especially the nice pics are real well done.
Because I, by myself, prefer such two-lister filemanager-programs, I've tryed it out.
A very small report:
positive: - real nice look - the main-GUI is designed clear, and easy (intuitive) to handle ... similar the Preferences-window. - all important file-related functions are available immediately, without have to make a big config-work - the program is highly configureable (hotkeys, menus, buttons), if the user this wishes
negative: - Copy as and Move as seems not to work - The dimensions of the current mainwindow size are overtake correct, but after a new-start the left and top edges are ignored. - FTP-style paths are not overtaken, so working with FTP-Mount is not possible - only a french guide
Overall: A very diligent work! I'm highly impressed. Please continue the work. It doesn't matter, if there are users, which prefer other file-managers. Each one can use the program, which is the most useful for him/here.
A wish: drag&drop would be a nice feature.
