Best software ever! Last month I've been trying to upgrade XP Home to Pro, just to use Remote Desktop.
Now with the latest enhancements (smooth scaling), I can use it every day, with no problems.
P.S. A 3.x PPC version would it speed up the refresh rate, or is it just the LAN traffic (slow 10MBps X-Surf)? Please, give your hints for speeding up the whole thing

Try using the BGR233 mode. It is like 8-bit "true-color". Should speed it up a bit I think. I use it when using VNC the other way: PC->Amiga. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

Nice, fantastic program.
I have found found a little glitch in it: from version 0.7 on it seems to dislike SHANGHAI and POPPUBSCREEN flags. I've been using a little tool called FrontPub to make any pub screen the default pub screen, so I can open, f.ex. a NotePad instance on Ibrowse screen to edit this very post, but it activates SHANGHAI mode too, causing TwinVNC to lock mouse pointer when trying to open on a screen instead of a window. System is not crashed, only pointer is freezed, while clock still works.
Looking for an alternative, I have found that DefPubScreen does what I want while keeping SHANGHAI and POPPUBSCREEN flags as an option. Activating any of them makes TwinVNC crash.
BTW, v0.5beta7 does not crash neither with FrontPub not with DefPubScreen and both modes set on.

You can find a complete list of servers for AmigaOS in the .guide file inside the TwinVNC archive

| Another little thing; "Save as", in the embedded GUI, does not save OVERLAY settings to the project icon.
