| Hi
I was trying YAM 2.5 today (great new version it seems) and after some installation of the Betterstring.mcc MUI class when I opened the program it request version 6 of my native catalog that I think is spanish and tells me to check if there is a version 6 of my native catalog or remove the old one. After this I can get into YAM but I don't want to migrate from YAM 2.4 to 2.5 every time with this message.
Anyone encounters the same problem with YAM 2.5?

If you have both YAM 2.4 and YAM 2.5 installed, then a simple "avail flush" right before switching the versions will remove the used catalog from the memory.
But may I ask why you want to constantly switch between 2.4 and 2.5? _________________ Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

| @tboeckel I want to keep YAM 2.4 because is the program that I have been using for the first time to manage e-mails with any Amiga and because I like it so much. But I think I will use YAM 2.5 and maybe delete YAM 2.4 later, but at the moment I will preserve my YAM 2.4 installation. Today I checked the e-mail with YAM 2.5 and all is right it doesn't advice me with any message so I can't use it and I have received my first five mails with this new version. Good luck to all!

Yeah I am from Spain and I've realized that you are from Spain months ago when I was browsing this forums and I am happy to see Amiga users from Spain too!
What do you think people that may I do remove or stay with YAM 2.4 and 2.5 on my system?
I am in doubt...

I replaced my Yam version many moons ago with v2.5 (nightly, beta versions), and no complaints so far, I have not regretted since.

I have a little problem here too.I copied the configuration of YAM 2.4 to YAM 2.5 and after this I received the messages as I said before very well indeed. But after some hours when I try to send my first message, with exactly the same configuration it says:
"Bad response from mail server 'SMTP.telefonica.net' to command 'MAIL':
530 authentication required for mail submission
The mail server couldn't execute the command and replied with the above error message.
(24-12-2007 19:50:33)"
Does anybody knows what does that mean?
Help me please cause I am missing why this occurs with the new version as the predecesor works absolutely well with the same configuration _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |

You might tweak your TCP/IP settings in YAM. Your mail provider already tells you what is going wrong: "authentication required for mail submission".
Try to use SMTP-AUTH and/or enable a secure transmission (SSL or TLS). For SMTP-AUTH you can either let YAM choose the best method (auto) or force YAM to use one of the other methods. Make sure to enter your account data in the SMTP section (user name and password).

Well I have SMTP-AUTH enabled giving me this error message every time I try to send messages. With YAM 2.4 nothing bad occurs, but I want to try and make useful for me the latest version of YAM.
I've enabled SSL and TSL and with my account data the same as in YAM 2.4 the error persist.
If Anybody can give me his/her YAM 2.5 configuration to compare with mine... _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |

It looks like you need to re-enter your passwords. Try the following: delete the pass for a given account and let Yam ask you for it when retrieving mail, let's see if entering the pass by hand makes any difference.

| @Ferry I converted all the YAM 2.4 messages to the YAM 2.5 format and nothing changes as I can't send my messages.
What can I do it? _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |
