Hallo everyone,

Well i've downloaded the version 1.9 of OWB and it is really a good.

The progress bar is very useful because you can check the progress :D

Only one word WOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWw! the "Return/enter" key work in the editor now.

A small bug... when we are writing it react strange because part of page is moved on the left...

But anyway it is fast and a modified toolbar and for searching, instead of having Google symbol there is a globe with glass.

Ok, try it also :)

Nicola

@unimon

However... this is the first time I've tried running OWB, and it is currently saying:
Quote:
ELF LibraryRequired Object is missing

I've copied the SDL .so file to SObjs.

@amipal

Did you download and install this libicu*-3.4 (7-Zip, 2.1 MB) (from http://strohmayer.org/sfs/) too ? And do you have July update installed as well ?

@all

This 1.9 is the first useable version. This is **GREAT** !!!!! The first modern web browser for Amiga (which is publicly released) !!!

Thanks OWB team !!!

Fixed! Thanks Tomppeli!

@all
Got it running now. Have to agree with Slash, the fonts do look odd.

@sites
Most look pretty good, and a quantum-leap better than IBrowse on CSS pages! I have found some small graphical glitches:

@amipal

I'll paste my original response onto this thread before the other one disappears

I have all of the standard web fonts installed already but I still get a horrible looking font layout, as can be seen with this grab: Horrible OWB Fonts.

Does it look like this for everyone else?

Anyway, the browser is coming on leaps and bounds and I hope to see just the layout engine as a MUI MCC or BOOPSI gadget soon. Good work!

The readme file should talk about the **.so (libicu & SDL) file needed.
Or at last OWB should be more specific than "ELF : File missing"...

But thanks to you and your advice, now I can enjoy OWB

@unimon

globe of glass does not do anything if I click on it. Is it supposed to?

OWB does not cope with radio buttons at this site. I have not tried others.

I am of course excited by the progress being made.

I'm going to attempt to install this browser on my uA1-c. It looks great!

I have a question: what's the status on SSL? Does it handle https://

Thanks.

OWB can be updated automatically directly by AmiUpdate

By the way, thanks for this excellent browser

I am able to enter a URL via the arexx port though I have not found a way of doing this via iBrowse. However, using the arexx port would be improved if another command, SCREENTOFRONT, were available through the arexx port.

Doesn't work for me.
What do I need to do?
AmiUpdate, updated itself to v1.95, and then says there are no updates available.
