| Hello everyone,
With the recent birth of new software for OS4 (I.E. Hollywood 4, CodeBench) (and the hope for the birth of many others) will be great to start a campain to publicize the Amiga. For this reason, i've created a logo: Made with Amiga. What the users think about this:
I wish to thank you Andrea Palmatè (Afxgroup) for hosting the logo on his website (www.amigasoft.net Last edited by AmigaBlitter on 06-Mar-2009 at 03:29 PM.

Cool. Nice work. Good Amiga graphics
It does seem to leave me with the impression that the Amiga is a faceless god but yet is powerful. |

Don't want to be harsh, but this looks like "my first steps in a 3d package".
Sorry but it doesn't look professional at all.
The idea is good i think, give it another try.

A nice idea. But, where is that logo supposed to be used? Depending on that, it might be just too big. I.e. on a website, the usual banner sizes like 468 x 60, 234 x 60, 400 x 40, 120 x 600, 130 x 40, etc. would be better. If it shall be used on CD/DVD/retail boxes the format is also important and currently maybe not optimal.
Second, I don't like the yellow glow of the letters and thee different colored shadow.. i'd either remove the glow completely or at least make it white instead of yellow.. and the shadow should be kept grey for the whole text.
Other than that, nice work for a first shot ;)

Thank you: i will work on.
An idea is to put the logo on the Amiga made software (on the Slapsh screen and about, maybe).
What about to include the logo in the Hollywood presentations too?

Unfortunately that logo looks like it's straight from the 90's, which isn't a good thing when trying to promote something in this age. You really should consider losing the arms and lightningbolts and work more on the logo itself. Keep in mind that often less is more :) |

| @sananaman and @AmigaBlitter
(sananman - this is meant in a nice way, evidently) If your so good, why dont you help amiga Blitter, and create a logo for him?
As for unprofessional, the only thing I can see that is wrong with it(and by all means still looks good) is the fact that the arms look like they have aliasing, in comparison to the rest of the graphics that are very clear indeed.
(Just opened OWB to post my comment, and the image looks a lot better and cleaner and nicer. what web browser did you use to view this sananaman?)
But why so fussy for an idea, is this not only in concept mode, or temporary graphics anyway?
Perhaps it is the image quality of the arms being not as good as the other images he/she may have imported or copied across into this one picture?
were layers used?
what packages were used for this, out of curiousity?
By packages, I mean programs, 3D and graphical? Or was this all done using Hollywood packages?
Perhaps it would be an idea, to use a 3d package for some things, and then finish it all off in hollywood?
ANyway, overall, I think you Have done a nice job of it, that gives fellow amiga users a fair idea of what direction you were heading and thinking of.
As for advice, I think one should display the globe in there somewhere, along with a face wearing glasses, or even just a face. Think it also wouldnt hurt to add some faint background amiga hardware images, like of A1200, A4000, A1, Pegasos and Sam440ep boards. Naturally if you show A1200 and A4000, it would be a good idea to have them shown with their respective Expansion boards that allow them to use os4. Suppose it also would be nice to see not just a nice big red boing ball, but a small blue boing ball, that could be the red boing balls moon? Add some ground to it all somehow, perhaps like a RPG type of ground, like grass, shrubs and a bit of dirt.
Another idea that springs to mind,
Have red boing ball as a planet, blue boing ball as a moon, and then have them amongst a galaxy setting, and a gap within this galaxy scenery, to allow the viewing of two hands holding the earth, and a faint face, (like just lines) similar to thalions design back in the day, and a caption of text next to it that allows you to place some text(words0 in it of your choice. Meanwhile, made with Amiga words are standing out, evenly balanced, and are placed on a spaceshuttle that happens to be passing the red boing planet with its blue boing moon, and is like inbetween the earth caption of two hand, and these boing planets, all the while a slight myst or fog like look hapening around the made with Amiga words on the space shuttle.
oh man, Hope I didnt get carried away with my thoughts here.
I am going to risk it, and post my comments made here, and hopefully the amiga community can forgive an ideas man here.
Anyway, Hope you succeed in finding a nice campaign type picture.
Cheers.

Thank you.
I used Poser 7 to create the arms and Photoshop to do other stuff. Someone at Iksnet suggested me to use Female arms and hands. But this is only the first shot. I will work on the logo in the next days.
Please, continue with the suggestions.
The idea is to make people aware that Amiga still around and that the Amiga OS is powerful to help you create many things.

I like it! Slap it on anything Amiga made, it can't do much harm. I remember doing an animation on Deluxe Paint IV and Scala in 1999 and putting an Amiga Powered Gif on the end credits. Important to do it really to raise awareness. Shame there wasn't one on the end credits of Babylon 5 Season 1, Jurassic Park, Terminator 2 etc.
While we're on it, Why is it the Mac always get the credit for the 'Mercury Man' effects on T2:Jugement Day? Didn't the Amiga have a part to play there too? _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

| Looks much too nineties = old.
Exactly the wrong message to the people who this is directed to.
Do you want people to associate Amiga with old?
The whole concept is a good idea, but you have to really care what kind of stuff you are showing to people...
The message should be "Look, this is Amiga, and it's modern". Last edited by steril606 on 06-Mar-2009 at 01:22 PM. Last edited by steril606 on 06-Mar-2009 at 01:21 PM.

How about something more minimal and clear, like this?

| Hmm, Concordes 40 years old, Amiga is over 20 years old, and you want to show things made with Amiga?
How about Roadrunner, Tesla or any latests generation desktop super gaming computer. Dedicated custom Graphics, Sound, IO, memory busses, Drive control, etc etc.
Watch out for using a face, after all, Western Caucasion is only a very small percentage of the worlds population, and are disliked by rather a large proportion of most of the planet, for many reasons.
Dont forget the Atom is 1.6 Ghz, and yet Every publication keeps slating it as useless for Decent, so called, everyday use, good only for a bit of text or light browsing, yet its 5 times more powerful than the ME PC I use for viewing BBC iPlayer, Youtube etc, which generally are the toughest thing for any machine to do.
If you truely want the most futuristic image to use for the Amiga, use MiniMig. Completely FPGA hardware. Intel has been making noises about using this technology in the future.
If you think about arms, lightning, and the boingball, you need the Sistiene (Sorry 8( ) Chapels roof. Or the book, The Last Hero.
Hmm, theres more parrallels there than first thought.
Nice image, keep working on it. 8) Thank you.

Noooooooooo, the check/tick is FAR FAR superior to anything that has reared it's ugly head in the previous couple of years!
You don't see Ford, MG, BMW, Honda etc. changing very much, a good brand is a good brand regardless of it's originating era. Maybe a minute tweak here and there but nah, leave the tick _________________ This fire is burnin' and it's out of control It's not a problem you can stop, It's rock n' roll - GN'F'N'R |
