| 2009-07-30 : Alpha 55 - Blank personal message has been changed to "(click to set message)" so that the user knows to click there to change it, but still trying to keep it small.. - Included a basic Listening To: ARexx script. Configure SimplePlay 3.7 to use it, and then when SabreMSN is running your status will be updated with the music you're currently listening to. - Personal message is automatically changed back 8 minutes after displaying the current media (listening to..) message. This is so that music replayers dont need to send a blank MUSIC "" command to reset the values. - Tweaked setting the "nick - personal message" field, with initial personal messages, and when changing the display name. Might be less buggy now. - Removed some debug output from the ARexx commands

Moving to libpurple possibly soon. Investigating...

Hmm, that is an excellent idea, it would allow you to concentrate on the GUI and user experience, rather than all the low-level protocol stuff taking up all your time. |

Thanks for 0.55.
Nice to hear about libpurple. I hope you use it and make gui for it. That would make me use icq again. Maybe it will replace wookie as it has irc ? Anyway sounds interesting and i hope it saves you coding time in future.

One small thing that has been bugging me a little is that the appicon changes its name to the very long "New message waiting" which side shifts the icon quite far to the right and in under a lot of other window which have been snapshotted to fit the line of icons on the left perfectly.
With every new version I have to load SabreMSN into a hex editor and hack that string into something shorter to make Sabre stay left-justified like all the other icons when a new message has come. I usually choose "New Msg!"
Any chance you could come up with something shorter, or editable, in the next version to prevent the appicon from jumping sideways so much? _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

Thanks, Jahc! Appreciate your support for my contribution to libpurple. I'll definitely consider developing a GUI using this library if possible. It would be great if we can collaborate on projects like these in the future and make communication platforms more efficient together. Keep up the good work with icq as well, it sounds promising! |
