@all

In what fov you get the above results? The default or 113?

QIII is barely playable on single player and on 1 vs 1 at 30fps @ 1024x768.

On tdm6 online multi player at 6 vs 6 you need at least 75 fps @ 1280 x 1024 x 113 fov.

Anything below the above will cause major drawback in the performance of yours. Note, that I am not speaking for a regular Q3 player but for a team or duel clan match where you will need high performance to dodge (using rocket jumps etc) and an adequate accuracy of +50% railgun, +45% shaft (lightgun), +80% shotgun etc. Of course you need always 5.1 sound hardware accelerated enabled at duels, using head phones, in order to listen very carefully where your opponent and coming from to attack you.

Anyway, I believe, Q3 is a demanding game. I remember that I got 65 - 75 fps in multiplayer clan matches 6vs 6 at tdm6 (The CampGrounds) on an Athlon 1GHz, oc@1.133Ghz, 512SDRam oc@126Mhz, GF3Ti200 oc as GF3Ti500 etc, and various tweaks enabled.

But on the other hand the port of QIII must have many flaws. It should get around or more than 40-45 fps with 16bit at 800x600 with most options set from medium to maximum. At least on the pc it worked that way 10 years ago.

Right now, I play Quake Live with max_fps 125 (steady) on online 16 vs 16 players with hardware accelerated sound, most options set to maximum at 1920x1680@32bitx113fov. I think the above is the best possible configuration.
