I agree with most of what you are saying, but on the other hand, QIII had better results on a Celeron 466 with an on board gfx of 1998. Sam has surely better specs than this (faster cpu, faster ram, more ram, better gfx, faster hd etc). So, I guess, that there must be a flaw on the port or a flaw at some part of the OS?

For example, there should be a significantly increase on FPS when downscaling from 1024x768 to 800x600 and then even lower. From what I have tested and what I can see on other peoples post, here in this thread, there isn't. Only 18 fps difference (more or less) from 1280x1024 to 800x600?This should be almost double. But here I am not comparing apples to apples (low end pc x86 with Win98Se vs low end ppc with OS4.1). Still, I do not understand why the performance is so different.
