| I just wanted to let everyone know that the fully registered version of the Remote Desktop client for AmigaOS 4 is included with AmigaOS 4.1 Classic and also AmigaOS 4.1 for the Sam 460.
The registered version includes Windows Vista and Windows 7 connectivity, Automatic Stack checking, Persistant Cache, Connection Bar, Mouse Adjustments, Performance Increases, and the Remote Desktop GUI.
I would like to thank everyone who donated to this project and also the programmers behind it. Without you it would not have been possible.
Thanks also to Hyperion, ACube, and AmigaKit, and of course all the future customers of AmigaOS 4.1 Classic and all other platforms!

Thanks a lot mate, just a question: how about next update ? Do you plane to include full RDesktop also into the new A1/Sam440 ISO ?

| First i've ever heard of a registered version. Where can Sam440 users get this from?
Edit: Ah, http://www.hd-zone.com/rdesktop/index.html - Here's hoping it'll be in included in Update 3? ( ... ... ... ). I remember trying rdesktop on OS4Depot, trying to connect it to Windows 7, even after putting the Win7 server in a compatibility mode to accept older clients, but it still wouldn't connect from OS4.1 Last edited by MickJT on 09-May-2011 at 05:58 AM. That's really good news, Darren! I've been heavily using RDesktop with OS 3.9 to control the XP-PC underneath my desk from my A4kPPC when needed. It served me very good so far and I was hoping for an OS 4.x version.
The only issue I had with it so far was that I once tried to use the clipboard sharing and the audio sharing and could not get it working - but maybe I didn't try hard enough..._________________ Ciao

Yeah I noticed I got a full version with this Sam 460 as well - even though I have no intention of buying a Windows PC its always nice to have just in case. Nice job. _________________

Glad, we need usable apps bundled, unlike M$ OS`s that come with ... nothing.
Hope this will come to all with OS 4.1.3 and nice reward to Classic and SAM 460 users. Let us network and control _________________ OS 3.x AROS and MOS supporter, fi di good, nothing fi di unprofessionalism. Learn it harder way! Remote Desktop is part of Microsoft Windows also you get Windows Media Player for free. How ever the office applications are not part of Windows, this also true for AmigaOS. MacOSX has lots of stuff bundled; personally I think it takes some of the fun out; It’s fun to install stuff, and knowing how things work. Last edited by NutsAboutAmiga on 09-May-2011 at 10:29 AM.

Just a small correction remote desktop is a part of Business/professional and Ultimate editions of Windows but not Home or Home Premium versions._________________ Sam440ep 667mhz, 512MB, 120GB 2.5" HD, OS4.1FE WinUae 3.0.0, OS 3.9, BB3, Catweasel MkIV Amiga 1200, Blizzard 040/40 (BlizzardPPC 060/200 with SCSI removed at present), mediatorSX pci, Voodoo3, PCI network card os 3.9BB2 4MB Minimig with ARM addon boar |

Certainly that is possible, but it depends on how the next update is packaged and what will be included with it. My vote would be a "yes" but we'll have to see :)

Maybe the server part. But you have a remote desktop client on every version of Windows (and if you want to control a home version, you can always install a free VNC server). |

Well this is not place to discuss Windows apps, but WMA took 9 versions to play mp3 and 11 to play divx Any free player is better
No PDF, No Java, No Flash, Awdul Wordpad, Notepad, Scandisk, Defrag ... almost the same as in Win95 etc. etc.
