As I said, it parses it as an Amiga path first. If it doesn't exist, then it parses it as a unix path. So there's no issue here in breaking any Amiga style paths. It's exactly your fix as posted by kas1e, plus trying again as a unix path if it can't find it.
For clarity
1) If filepath starts with /, it strips it. (Your fix) 2) Try to open filepath. 3) If cannot open filepath, try original filepath before / was stripped. (My change).
Any html manuals that use ".." will have no problem either.
Also, unix paths are only ever going to be used if linked with libunix. So, you've got the choice anyway.
