Maybe the Rebol 3 port with it's extensive network protocol support migth be a solution.

If you feel bored you might have a look at pyMUI (http://yellowblue.free.fr/yiki/doku.php/en:dev:pymui:start) - it would be nice to use OS4's inbuild Python facility to make fancy GUI's, the author of pyMUI has some nice applications demonstrating what can be done...
