When starting Bars n Pipes it asks for realtime.library even though I have it in my Libs folder.
So because it can't find realtime.library I get a DSI and non starting software. _________________ 1 AmigaOne G4XE (OS4 Pre-Release Update4) Minimig Sam440ep + OS4.1FE Sam460cr + OS4.1FE |

| @1Mouse Do not know, that strange. It will be an old version of realtime.lib? Have the camd.library? You should contact Lyle _________________

I have been busy working on BarsnPipes.. bugfixes and feature improvements.
I can give a few details:
ANY failed library open will DSI. SO sorry about that. It has been found and fixed, but the fix has not yet been distributed. Sundown found this bug first when it failed opening CAMD.library. You are the first to mention realtime.library though.. It requires version 50 or better.
Another bug: It will be unable to save your settings unless the directory ENVARC:barsnpipes is already created.. As before, this is already fixed, but has not yet been distributed.
What's coming? I am re-arranging the entire graphics system to support more than 8 color screens.. and creating a "split" system that will let me gradually move window handling over to window.class..
Also porting more tools and accessories.. the accessories take more time than tools to get right.
Let me know if any more bugs pop up, I'll try to knock them back down as quickly as possible.

If the program was using the appropriate DOS call, IDOS->SetVar(), this would not have happened, it creates any directory path for you.
Also, please make sure you do not treat ENVARC: or ENV: as a filesystem, it is not necessary to access them this way and these devices are also likely to change to using exec lists in a future DOS release.
Always use the appropriate API calls IDOS->SetVar(), IDOS->GetVar(), IDOS->ScanVars(), to access variables, this will future-proof your application and also avoid unnecessary code.

Thanks! I'll make those changes before the next release.
BarsnPipes is big enough that it will take me some time to get it all "together", especially since I'm changing stuff as I go.
Every day is just another opportunity to learn.

Did you conrinue the updates made by Alfred Faust or yours is a completely new version of B&P? _________________ "When the Amiga came out, everyone [at Apple] was scared as hell." (J.L. Gassée, former CEO of Apple France and chief of devs of Mac II-fx, interviewed by Amazing Computing, Nov 1996). |

I started from BarsnPipes OS4 version 0.6, the last OS4 version that Alfred released. The release currently on OS4Depot is 0.7.1.
From here the numbers should go up. ;) Along with bug fixes, I'd like to gradually move to a more modern GUI. Right now I'm laying the groundwork to support that.
BarsnPipes is also availabe from Alfred for MOS and Classic Amigas. I am only working on the OS4 version.
