The Activision and Raven Software game studios have open-sourced two of their games Star Wars Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. Both games are based on ID Tech 3 engine like Quake3 Arena, so porting should be not that hard i guess.
The source code is released under the GPLv2 license. The code is available on SourceForge via jedioutcast and jediacademy.

If i remember well Jedi Outcast was excellent game, I am not that sure about Jedi Academy though... So anyone interested?

@ExiE

This is great news... a talented team should use it to put together a decent FPS for the Amiga...

I've finished both games so many years ago that I can't even tell their actual storyline, lol. Still, the graphics, sound and gameplay were more than awesome. I would classify them as more demanding than the rest of the games available so far in amigaland. Good luck to whoever decides to port them.

Actually started (together with a friend) work on a different opensourced commercial game 3D FPS source. No guarantees when, though. But now it's first off for holidays before I will continue on it.

@MagicSN

Good luck! I'd like to have a great FPS to show off on my X1000.

It's "Redneck Rampage" isn't it.

@ExiE

Finding the graphics support under OS4 to run these games even if someone ports them might be a problem. I don't think miniGL is up to the task of running these games unless a lot of eye-candy is removed from the game or features disabled.

@MagicSN

hmm I guess one of these
Aliens versus Predator
Doom 3
Marathon 2: Durandal
No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Shadow Warrior
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
----
Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

the most interesting one without any doubts is No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way, but its actually quite hard for players to buy official version to take the data from...

Releasing full 3D driver support for Radeon AND an OS4 3D game would be the best move of the year :)

if you try to search for 'jedi' on SF, you will see the sources should be there and download counter shows 50k+. I guess it is temporary problem...

@ExiE

Aliens versus Predator
Doom 3
No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
Shadow Warrior
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

FTFY - Aleph One already runs Marathon games.

@Thematic

Is No One Lives Forever 2: A Spy in H.A.R.M.'s Way open sourced? The game had a serious engine flaw that caused massive graphical distortion, prohibiting it from running on modern machines (equipped with Vista). There wasn't any solution possible until 2-3 years ago, when I gave it a try. I must have gotten till the middle of it and I have to state that it was by far the best game of the series.

@Cool_amigaN

The Lithtech engine source is available, but looks like it would first need to be "ported" from Visual C++ to gcc. And rewrite the rendering (DirectX stuff).
