Amiga 4000 MAME on AGA vs Sam 460 MAME on 6670

On Aga mode i have to skip one frame because the Aga
if i select Rtg the same game run at 100% without frame skip and frame drops.

I tested the big NeoGeo Roms too and they result on The Amiga 4000 at 100% speed without frame skipping and frames drop

My wonderful Amigas .. no one can understand how much this machines are magic

the 604 is a 375@mhz downcloked to 366 ... Sysmon say 730 Mips
The Sam 440 ep 600 is near 1100 Mips
The 460 is 2050 mips
and X1000 is 3000 mips

If only the OS4.1 was using the Zoram as conventional memory and not as a swap i think the A4000 will be really usable today too ..
Im using Netsurf for browsing and is good and faster under the A4000 too

I tested the two differt versions under Android and Mame 37.b5 is much faster if compared to the new version ... this because seems the new mame have a better Audio drivers implementation and some other difference in the cpu and video emulations...
In all the case for our hardware Sam , X1000 will be better have an old one porting and usable and not a new but slow and not ejoiable ...

If OS4.1 used the ZorRAM as conventional memory instead of swap, you'd be limited to about 68030 speeds no matter what CPU you used. Not very usable. :)

No one think about have A Memory expansion in the Pci slot of The Cyberstorms/BlizzardPPC board?
We have to bomb email the Dce :)

You have to remember why the CS-PPC has a limit of 128MB - the reason is that the CPU slot only supports that much! You could potentially have another amount of RAM locally, but then it's getting very complicated and the extra RAM wouldn't be able to access anything other than the CPU (kind of fast-fast RAM :) )

I think the situation we have at the moment isn't ideal but it gets us by!

Was better from very beginning the Phase 5 made more expandable the ram on cyberstorm like they did with blizzard ... Ok we have to wait a some genious who made Afika like Accellerator for the Old great wonderful a 4000/3000 :P :P :P

I'm not sure what the status of DCE is since Thomas Dellert passed away. PCI spec is open anyway so someone else could do it if it's viable.

The Blizzard uses the A1200's CPU slot which has an extra address line - making 256MB the limit rather than 128MB.
Don't forget, though, back in 1998 when they were new, 128MB was very expensive, and 256MB was worth a few arms and legs. :) So you can understand why it wasn't a high priority.

yes i remember good how much pay in 1998 my CyberstormPPC 604e150 with 060 and 128Mb... now that board is running as 640e@366 with 060@66 in junction to Acard and Sata SSD ... the 4000 is fly :)

I know This mate, have an old release on mame eg 37.b2 Will make the game running faster and usable on our systems without video accelleration ...
I test it on the mini pc android the last release af andoid4all is the same rel of our mame and the games become slow and not usables...
After I installed the 37b5 and all the roms become fast and smooth with 3x video scaling . .. 60 fps constant and great sound emultation :)

It's quite trivial to port the old 0.37 version to OS4 (or anything). The problem is rather finding compatible rom sets with 0.37.

I downloaded a Big Huge Archive from "someware torrent" about 28gb ...
and the games listed in 37.b2 that i try are working :)
Probably because of this compatibility a programmer as ported the 37.b5 Mame4all and Mame4droid (last sources) to Android compatible device :)
This roms sets i used in the A4000 and in the Sam460 too for make the video ,plus in my mini pc and in the mac ...
I know some roms have problems but usually are the ancients games early 80

Plus there are some Dvd.iso with mame romset for first Xbox compatible with the Mame 37/40
