Hi All,

I have been given access and full permission to try out AMIStore on my X1000, prior to it's release soon by A-EON Technology!

I have been trying it out for a while now, and written up a detailed sneak peak blog entry with plenty of screenshots of what AMIStore is all about and what to expect. It is exciting!

The link is here:

http://amigax1000.blogspot.com.au/2014/10/amistore-sneak-peak-on-my-x1000.html

I hope you find it interesting!

Catcha,
Epsilon

Nice blog entry. Good to see you can send gifts to friends on there like on steam.

@Epsilon

Very good review thanks Epsilon, it will be interesting to see if Radiance is more than a paint program as it suggests it is a multimedia program i.e. video editor?

Looks quite good; however, who's idea was it to put all of the ASL requester buttons in uppercase? BAD IDEA

Looks good.

Anyway Mplayer will not be sold, as it will continue to be free to download from OS4Depot.net and the source code will be open to respect the GPL licence.

I might consider making add-on's, this might be sold, but that's a different matter.

Fair point, it does look a little inconsistent. Hopefully they'll change it since it should only take a few minutes.

Wow. Looks like an awful lot of work has gone into this. Looks pretty much a fully featured app store - another positive step forwards.

The Radiance teaser pic looks like it may be some sort of graphics sub system to give composite gpu acceleration to the apps hinted at in the picture - sketchblock addons, mplayer, candi etc.

This looks way better than what I'd hoped for, very, very good work! When I was going nuts over things this was one thing that came to mind but I never thought that it would be this good.

I'm sorry for going nuts but all the fighting needed to stop and I know that people hate me for what I did but it seems like my points came through and I do like the results. The forum for support, this app and so on. Others have came with good suggestions like the specified OS-update list of what's new and so on. I think it's more organised now and less fighting wich is something good.

You can visit this site without crazy arguing about everything. Nice! That might not be the only reason but I think that it's part of the reason at least.

@Xmas87

The Radeon 2.4 driver provides that functionality. You made me pay closer attention to Radiance and it clearly looks like it's a software bundle, the tiles indicating what apps are supplied in the bundle.

@All

Thanks all for the kind feedback.

AMIStore is very promising, and I was glad to be given the opportunity to have a sneak peak at it on my X1000 ahead of it's release!

@amigang

Im looking forward to both Amistore as well as that Store that was mentioned in Amiga Future Magazine (i guess thats Phoenix Consoles store).

By quick it seems (in my own opinion only - without actually knowing what i am talking) like Amistore would look more professional and more targeted (amiga only), while Phoenix Console basically has more interesting concept in trying to get same software runing in multiple platforms, some through emulation, I guess bit like Nintendo does in Wii and Wii U when they offer older games through their nintendo eshop. Although it is somewhat idea already done, I find it quite innovative in putting that thing up.

For example, they still make games to C64 (and even older machines), and basically i could be interested in them, but they havent made it easy enough for me to get them. Buying through a store like that would make it easy enough for me if i just buy it and run it.

Hope both succeed.

Is there a way for other users to Share their APPS they create?
Or will it be controlled from someone else what gets shared on there?

@Bugala on amiga.org (same thread title)
I would agree but as you know we started with AMC in 2009(released in 2010) and it was planned to add a App Store to it. I was in talk with every party about that on email base.
So this is the difference. "Stolen is the wrong word" It is just bitter that after ahh and ohhhs no real cooperation has happened.... maybe it is Alzheimer or arrogance or both at the same time. I made the mistake, not them. I talked/waited to long. SO i have learned my lessons.

Maybe it is just the "not invented here syndrome"...

I am not feared or pissed by competition. I still hoped that there will be a last minute change. So far i am also not concerned about their offer to be better than mine : )

AND my rant was not about this history lesson it was just about my news-items not being posted there and i didn't understand why this time (the last times i accepted their reasons the told me to excuse that)
