Hello amigaworlders!
My A1 now is a thunder survivor..but the power supply and integrated network were sacrificed..i replaced them with a brand new power supply and an old 3com pci, but to make room i dismount the soundblaster..fortunately i've the sigmatel chip on the mb, so os4.1 can speak, but not on the linux side..is there a driver for the a1 audio chip?
instead the net pci (a 3c905x model) works fine with linux, but os4.1 apparently can't see it...on the port 0 of internet's configuration the integrated chip refuse to work, if i change the port roadshow tell me that it can't find the network...my mistake??

Yes, there is a Linux driver, but it can't detect the SigmaTel codec correctly and thus refuses to load. I couldn't get it working yet.

A1 under OS4 supports RTL8029/139/169 ethernet PCI cards.
So you must find/buy one with Realtek chipset (RTL8xxx)
I tried one with RTL8139 chip and worked fine under OS4/4.1

What's the x in your 3C905x? If it's B or C, it should work with eth3com.device AFAIK, but if it's a plain 3C905 ("A"), it won't work. However, I have my own 3Com driver that supports the plain 3C905 that I could send you.

I've put the driver up here. I'm not sure I understand your questions, but it's a driver I wrote based on my 3Com driver for PCMCIA cards. Yes, it's compiled, you don't have to compile it. It works with more 3Com cards than the official OS4 3Com driver.

It's included in every kernel module archive I released so far.

I think there can also be problems if the PCI ID of the PCI card is exactly the same as the motherboard NIC.

ouch!
i tried with a realtek network card but os4 don't see it (also linux don't see this card)
it's a compatible model (edimax 9130) but with a 8139 realtek chipset..is possible a compatibility problem?

Did the soundblaster still work after the lightning? Just wondering if it fried something else too...

USB stack doesn't mind such a thing.
