@abalaban

Great post. Thanks for the info.
I'm going to try the new battery holder thing first.

I don't think my cpu is the problem. I get a serial port read out.
Which shows the cpu and ram and then..

flash 0 bad crc

Many Thanks

@PhantomInterrogative

Very good to know. I didn't know about anyone in the US.
If the battery holder replacement doesn't work.

Kurt Grach may be my next step.

once again, many thanks

@SACC-dude

When my CPU need a reflow this *was* the symptoms : intermittent UBoot appearance with full boot into OS4 or without and Uboot errors at different steps (GFX card init error, RAM detection/init errors etc.)

No, no news yet. The processormodule has been away now for 16 days. I have been told it could easily take 2 - 3 weeks, so there is no need to worry yet. And though I get along with Ubuntu nicely, I really miss my Amiga. This is the first time in 20 years that I am Amiga-less!

@Mrodfr

Warranty?! My machine is 7 years old, and it's manufacturer (Eyetech) and dealer (ComputerCity) both left the Amigascene, so I didn't really expect any warranty.

Arcoss didn't seem surprised to hear it concerns an Amiga. But after all:for them it is just another ordinary G4-processor, which they have reballed or reflowed many times.

They said reballing is going to cost me 190,- euros, which was fine by me. I sent the processorboard to their workshop in Belgium, nicely wrapped and stowed in a strong plastic box.

Contact with them went through e-mail, nicely and to-the-point.

So far, so good I'd say.

@Johan

About warranty, It's just for reflow/reball the processor. Maybe they made a 1 or 3 months warranty for the work (Allways seen that reball/reflow is an hard task with not allways 100% success).

Thanks for answering my questions...

@Mrodfr

Ah, yes, of course. THAT kind of warranty...
Well, they didn't mention it and I didn't ask. Maybe I should have asked.
