| To make A1-XE recognize the removal of an USB-device all that has to be done is to short the data-lines to ground using two 12kohm resistors.
The good thing is that this does not have to be done on the motherboard, it can just as well be done at the end connector. Therefore I decided to build the most trivial little device that I can plug into an USB extension wire or a port itself to instantly make the USB-device logically remove itself from OS4. This way there is no need to hack the motherboard, power off the machine when swapping USB-device or buy a hub.
Here are two images of the creation: img 1 img 2
After these images were taken I wrapped a layer of insulator tape around the end where to grab it.
Have fun!

| A bump for you who weren't here the two days this thread was visible a few month ago in the summer.
And some additional info: The thing is a piece of PCB with two resistorn soldered on. Under the PCB I glued a peice of a an old creditcard to get the right thickness and width so it will fit perfectly in the USB port. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft. |

AmigaOneProductions was working on creating a little plug in usb dongle thing to do exactly that.
Alas Paul is M.I.A So I don't know what happened as far as that goes.

I'm still breathing, just a little busy at the moment , got married, kid on the way and in the process of moving home. Amiga projects are on the back burner at the moment
BTW with being so busy, the service expired on the web service I was using for the amigaoneproductions website and I just have not had time to do anything about it.
I'll be back one day
I don't get chance to log in here much at the moment but I will do my best to answer any emails I get anything@amigaoneproductions.co.uk will get to me.
Take care folks
See you all soon _________________ Glass coffins, a success? Remains to be seen. |
