@DaveyD

A nice look at the hardware, thanks for putting up the review.

I'm still left wondering where the OS4 license is going to come from, but being
open to several other OS's, AROS included, seems a positive move.

Cheers,
Bean.

What is a *good* price for you? Any estimate? Regarding the release date, there is this post in the other thread. However, no idea what this is based on.

@DaveyD

maybe a "translated from a Bitplane Magazine review", would be more correct (about the title)

Thanks

@Framiga

ok no problem, added it to the title, the copyright is at the bottom.
Maybe you can send me some photos to add?

@DaveyD

better to ask to one of the SAM developers (and/or to the Bitplane owner)

Edit- or to Lecta (one of the review writer). I don't have any.

Have in count that second hand standar A4000 on ebay sells for about 400 euro, a 500-800 euro for complete Sam computer with OS4 sound like a reasonable price for me

@DaveyD

The article was translated by me and Varthall (who indeed did most of the work).

Bye

Speaking of titles (and the chosen feature category), "detailed review" makes me think of, er, a detailed review. ;)

I see a spec sheet, however elaborately formulated.

The article itself says it's a "technical overview", which I think is an appropriate description. Experience from the last few years have taught me that "hardware reviews" in Amiga-land have deteriorated into mere spec listings (or in some cases something even worse; "fan-fiction"), so I wasn't surprised. But I did really think that someone had at least actually run the Sam (or at least the Yosemite) with Linux and written down some first impressions and a few basic test results!

I wonder when the board is estimated to be released with AOS4?

Just read it: Not before April 2007 which means summer IMHO since there are always troubles mistakes etc. which are leading to delays!

What a pitty!

@DaveyD

It's more a preview than a review. Maybe preview and opinion sections would be a good idea?
