can you please do the FFTdemo test under OS4.0 and upload here. iv ask in other threads but with no joy.

Blizzard PPC OS4.0 (world fastest Blizzard card)

Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (float)
time needed 15625ms for 413696 samples, => .300187587738037x speed @44100Hz/stereo
Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (integer)
time needed 13146ms for 413696 samples, => .356795281171798x speed @44100Hz/stereo
Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (integer handoptimized 68K ASM)
time needed 10613ms for 413696 samples, => .44195145368576x speed @44100Hz/stereo

link to download test.

Well yes it's faster...but the 604e is a better chip, and has better memory access. I'd love to see a faster Cyberstorm PPC :) Maybe you can make 333MHz Cyberstorm PPC? :) I think some guy was selling chips.

@delshay

You need (at least) 603e "366" MHz to be as fast as 604e 233 MHz...

However, your Blizzard is impressive.

it's just a small increase but it sets a **new** world record for classic amiga bus speed.

Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (float)
time needed 15359ms for 413696 samples, => .305386483669281x speed @44100Hz/stereo
Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (integer)
time needed 12910ms for 413696 samples, => .363317638635635x speed @44100Hz/stereo
Speed test for FFT + iFFT: (integer handoptimized 68K ASM)
time needed 10423ms for 413696 samples, => .450007766485214x speed @44100Hz/stereo

Very nice :) Should run OS4 quite well, especially with 256MB ram on that blizzard :) I am jealous - Cyberstorm PPC can only take 128MB.

@HammerD

the Blizzard PPC thats setting the pace is the the Blizzard PPC card with BGA socket with patent pending cooler. it has 128Mb of ram but it is not limited to 128Mb of ram like some other modification.

so if the PPC processor goes faulty not a problem i can change it in under 60 seconds.

my other Blizzard has a 80Mhz bus with 256Mb of ram so you just know that the Blizzard with it`s BGA/patent cooler has a faster bus than 80Mhz.

by luck all along i had the correct simm for very extreme bus clock,this simm is very very rare and im looking for another 128Mb of ram.

the last test result in this thread was a timing fix which just made the card faster.

iv being working on the Blizzard PPC card for 3 years it`s just no one notice untill now.

i would like to get hold of a A4000 & a Cyberstorm PPC card within the next 6 months so i can do some test.

you are correct i did some test my Blizzard card.

it`s as fast or level on par with a Cyberstorm 200Mhz. there nothing to choose between them (PPC side) so i need to find some more Mhz to be on par with a Cyberstorm 233.

68k my card has the lead here as it`s clocked higher than 70Mhz and is only a few Mhz shy of a APPOLO 80Mhz.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Test OS3.9

FREESPACE

OPPS: i did all test without the prelude sound card iv now added this in and i play FREESPACE with every thing turned up all channels opened up on the sound card i am amazed not a hint of any slowdown all the details turn up did not effect the speed.

the only time the game slowed down is when it access speech during game play. i think this maybe down to the card only having 128Mb ram this will be fixed soon to 256MB ram.

HERETIC II

this game now also a lot faster but still not super smooth corvus now looks like he`s now jogging than walking.

QUAKE 2

alot faster. in some places it`s super smooth but in some places it`s still not smooth.

SHOGO

also showed inprovement in speed,again still some slow-down in some parts.

all games tested with 800x600 screen mode.

im not in a good mood now. i made a error and it's very hard to change it without taking my hole card apart.

iv just discovered there is a hardware overclocked to help speed up the Bvision. as it stands my PCI is 36Mhz from a standard 25Mhz but it can do 41.33 Mhz. iv just check it here on my test card it shows just over 40Mhz.

now im in two minds to take both my cards apart to fix the problem which is massive task because of its on-board cooling system.
